I've tried 2 times to become a driver with swift. I have a cdl already. I got it through knight and drove with them. I was declined twice with swift, with no explanation!!!! I have a perfect driving record! Been off the truck since Oct 2019. Covid has made it hard for me to get a job I don't know why!

Did you talk to a recruiter? If you have a CDL they'll take you out for a road test then they'll set you up with on the job training with a trainer!

I had a problem with motel 6 in Montclair. They put you there to attend the swift Fontana yard. I drove to motel and they told me i had to drive to and from yard in my own car. I called recruiter who said that motel was wrong i could leave my vehicle parked at motel and that swift pays motel to shuttle students back and forth to motel. She spoke to motel manager and was informed they do receive money from swift to shuttle students to and from motel. But that they haven't been doing it. They make the students drive to and from in there own car, although they receive money from swift. And as for reputable motel." Sorry don't know when you were last there but it's a drug infested drug dealing and prostitution convention there. I was willing to go through those living conditions in order to drive for you and still am willing to. But i hope someone has taken care of motel transportation problems. The rest im sure ill survive. I will be calling a recruiter mid December 2021. I plan to make my second attempt some where in the beginning of January. Hope everything is squared away.

I'm stuck at my DOT Physical because I had a mild stroke in January 2020...I've been back to work since February 2020 and never seen a neurologist...I've been driving my own vehicle after getting approved by an eye doctor to do so...and I've had 17 years experience of driving a semi (low gears only) on the compound moving trailers but not on highway...is there still a chance I could make a career change to driving OTR???

I got my CDL in 1997, but moved to California and lost it because I had lost my marriage license so I couldn't prove my last name at the time, so they put my license my maiden name, which made me lose cdl, so if I get my license back would I still have to go out with a trainer even though I have years of experience?
