The paint looks exceptional, but I feel like that's the only area where this release shines. After such a long wait, and after Unique Toys released their version, which pulls off an incredible transformation significantly more easily than this guy, I don't really have any reason to pick this up, probably not even for a repaint. Still, this looks worlds better than their Freedom Leader release and makes me much more optimistic about future releases.

I know everyone commends Unique Toys for their "black magic" but I feel like where they truly shine, is making a "good enough" in terms of accuracy robot mode, all while also not having a completely horrible and complicated transformation. They are able to pull off a pretty straight forward and fun transformation yet it turns into basically the right looking robot mode. Any company can make a vehicle that explodes outward and turns into a robot, with a frustrating mess of parts, but it takes truly talented engineers to make it so that you get a pretty straight forward and fun transformation and still have that same result.

I love the overall transformation and how accurate this figure is. It's gonna be the closest above all for the bay films. Only problems is the chest piece. It's under development makes him look a bit weird. The wheel fenders isn't the proper size from this toy. Collar is too big and his neck isn't existent but we know it's there. His back has little to no body details for the truck portions of the transformation, which understandably is sacrificed for the kibble. Great transformation tho. Maybe we will get super accurate one day

Tbh, when I first saw images of this, I never really liked it. Idk why, probbly because of how blocky it is on the chest and some details are muted, especially on the silver parts. But when I saw this video, all my expectations just blow away. Whoever engineered this is a total genius, you won't see any third party tf figure that transforms as smooth as this everyday. Overall, I give this AND the video a 10/10. Good job perfectly showcasing that smooth transformation! Keep up the good work!

Exquisite work. Beautifully detailed artwork - the red flames over electric blue paintwork is excellent & the "chrome steel" areas are about as decently done as possible (short of actually chroming the metal parts, which may risk flaking/chipping). There also some nicely subtle aging/shading in there as well, but honestly, the artwork isn't the star, the gorgeous transform design is. Time & again, I have to wonder how the eff they managed to design such intricately fashioned parts - it's hard to visualise & I just watched it. This would take skill & likely training in toy engineering (if there is such a thing), but it's the experience of doing Transformers for who knows how long (these toy's have been 'round for 40 Years in their brand incarnation as Transformers) which really, really shows (especially in the more robust/flexible joints for posing - they do know their market). I want to know who the designers are & would love to get a signed copy of the CAD Designs printed out as an A1 scale poster.
