I think the reason why this game is so nostalgic is not just because the game has changed so much itself, but our real lives have changed also. You have to think, while playing this when we was younger we didn't really have any problems nor worries in life, such as bills, kids, work etc.. it was so simple, finish school and log on!

@@HM-uu9ug True, I still play WoW and working 9h daily shift The real reason why people are nostalgic about vanilla was the hype behind it, MMORPG was a new thing and tons of people loved it because it was *mmo* which was clearly new in 2004. That's also why most of mmorpg are copycats of WoW mechanics. 2004 was a new era for video games on PC, that's the nostalgy.

Atleast back in the days classes had more depth. Warriors stance dance or reroll. Also your burst was on GCD with all other abilitys so we still didn't had charge one shot shenanigans

To me it's a lot more to than just the game play. Back then the world was new and just logging on gave me satisfaction, times (for me at least) were better then. Making a new character and just doing quests was FUN now it's a drag, now everyone wants instant lvl cap, and now you NEED pvp gear to pvp, back then you didn't.

***** quite simple, it got too convenient. Yes, 40 min dungeon journeys were sometimes annoying. Yes, not being able to find a tank for dungeons for 2 hours was annoying too. But sitting in your capital city, running in circles while waiting for a queue for EVERYTHING is even worse than what we had in vanilla and why? Because it's not annoying but completely and utterly boring. You don't need to talk to people anymore so the social aspect is pretty much dead. You don't need to ride anywhere anymore so world pvp is dead. You don't have to work your ass off anymore to experience the endgame content so the sense of wonder that raids had is dead. Every moron can experience everything WoW has to offer within a few hours after hitting lvlcap. Since nobody needs to talk to other people anymore guilds become pretty much useless so those are dead too. It may sounds good at first and it's exactly what a lot of people complained about since vanilla but once you see all the content then what? Correct! You lose interest and considering that you can experience all the relevant content within a few hours (and no I'm not talking about old content because that's just fucking old content, not relevant anymore) it's not a suprise that WoW is losing a shitton of subscriptions. And don't even get me started on the current state of PvP. We got jackshit besides Ashran and fucked up class balance this expansion. Oh and Ashran is a complete trainwreck.

Am I the only one thinking that Wrath and MoP are better than every expansion ever made because of the PVP. I hate TBC and Vanilla because of the one shot kills. We all remmember the mage pompyro in TBC that does 9k with t6 and we all remmember shitty rogues in Vanilla that one shot you.+ Vanilla world PvP I know how everyone talks big for it but my opinion sucks. You don't know what is happening you just see some spells running to you and rogues ambushing you and you live 3 sec if you aren't max geared.

The reason people love vanilla and TBC was of different reasons. One of them beeing it was a new world.. Classes were different You had 40 man raids (i know GM's and officers had to work big to make it work, but man it was awesome) Some of the best looking sets were created in that time. No Deathknights. No monks Not 1000 cc from each player. If they could change a bit in tbc and vanilla and create a live server, it would be awesome. (Such as DR, such as insta pom pyro mages and ect.. u get the point)
