You can improve the performance of your Entity Framework Core queries by crafting custom SQL for your queries. This is great when you need to tweak bottlenecks of performance for complex logic. Let's see how it works!

Thank you very much... a lovely video as always and the way you explained this. We've been using other implementations of SQL Raw Queries in earlier version and this addition to v8 will definitely be helpful. Thanks once again.

Hi Shawn great video. I have a request for a video on the topic of debugging and reverse-engineering relatively simple code bases like for example something using MVC in Visual Studio 2022.

Can you say more about this? I am not sure I understand.

Great content Shaw tks. Just a question. The query you got after place thw .Where().OrderBy() looks kind of inneficient due the subquery return all rows (first) then they are filter by the parent select. Is this a good practice?
@swildermuth
@swildermuth 3 ай бұрын
Yup, the subquery is inefficient. Having the OrderBy after the Where prevents the sub-query.

please wait a bit, it takes time and processing power for KZbin to process videos. You're supposed to upload videos way ahead of time with a premiere but I guess something went wrong with this upload. Like clearly the title and the description don't match. Title says "Coding Shorts: Bun.js on WSL - It's Pretty Good" and description says "You can improve the performance of your Entity Framework Core queries by crafting custom SQL for your queries. This is great when you need to tweak bottlenecks of performance for complex logic. Let's see how it works!" so I think this is user error.

how about a "short" on ef caching ? thanks
@swildermuth

Do you mean caching inside of EF (e.g. accidently getting stale data), or caching EF data?
