since ur already in Camiguin which is part of Mindanao, its just a short boat ride to the mainland of Mindanao & nearest city is Cagayan de Oro but u can skip the city & head an hour further to Bukidnon which is perfect for the summer heat because it's cooler up there. Check the Del Monte Pineapple Plantation & maybe stay at Dahilayan with its many adventure atttactions for the children.

Looks like you guys enjoyed Soda Water more than my cousins and I did! We thought Soda Water was lackluster, so our grandma suggested Katibawasán Falls as a back-up plan. I hope those falls were part of your itinerary! I also hope you guys were able to try out the island's specialty: pastel de Camiguin: a brioche-like bun with filling, usually yema (custardized dulce de leche). You should get them from Vjandep (don't pronounce the J) at the town market; that's not too far from the resort!

i am glad that mangrove marshes are sort of protected now. those manggove trees or " bakawan" in tagalog is the best charcoal source thats why it was massively cut down in some areas.
