I was pushed twice into the deep end of the pool and I almost drowned twice. So I sort of developed a fear of water. In 2014, I decided to learn swimming and get rid of the fear of water. It wasn't easy and I was the slowest learner in my swim class. 2 months into swimming lessons, I didn't learn how to take breaths between strokes. That was when I came across 2012 London Paralympics swimming videos on KZbin. A young double arm amputee paralympian from China(Zheng Tao) won the men's 100 mts backstroke. I have never seen anyone move like a torpedo in water like that till I saw him. He inspired me so much that I taught myself how to breathe between strokes. Not just that, I taught myself; the butterfly, the breast stroke and the back stroke.The fear of water vanished. He made me fall in love with swimming and the water. For that, I am indebted to him. PS. He again won gold in the same category in Rio 2016 as well. He is totally my hero.
