Great video. You are right on. I just put in two handrails myself. I put in two, in less than an hour. I'm not too mechanically inclined. So I did a video on how to install. So Happy I was told to put the rails on deck. And avoid the problem of installing in the water. The ones I put in were low profile and looked great. I was worried the pool handrails would be unsightly. But the ones I put in actually enhance the look of the pool. I had been putting off installing them until my mom was visiting from NY. I first installed by the pool. I was so impressed I immediately ordered another one and put it in for the jacuzzi. Now I don't know how we went so long without it by the jacuzzi. Thanks for your excellent video, it inspired me to do mine. I can't recommend Pool Handrails enough.

Can you do a video of the installation? I’m in CA and nobody wants to do this for me cause they said that pool will crack eventually and they don’t want to be held responsible. I bought the exact same one as this .

Ok. So how do you keep the handle secured? What if its loose, or it has a little wobble? What do you do if its secured in the bottom of the pool and both the anchor points are loose?

We want to be able to put the hand rail back in the concrete in the future if we choose so whatever we use to cover the holes, has to be something we can easily remove - like a plug?

with the handrail off-set to one side the elderly people will have to use their left hand when entering and their right hand when exiting. whereas with the rain centered they can use the strongest hand entering and exiting; also the whole picture looks better with the handrail in the center of the entry steps.

I totally agree and was going to post the same thing. The way the pool is set up in the video, my 88 year old mother would have to pull herself out of the pool with her permanently screwed up right shoulder (rotator cuff). With the rail in the middle, she can always use her stronger arm. And yeah, it looks odd when not centered. The more I look at it in the video, the more I dislike it.

Exactly. The only issue with putting the handle in the middle is if they skimp on the steps like they did here, where you'll then be forced to use one or the other foot depending on which arm you favor, since only one foot will fit on the top step.

Yes you do want to put it in the center. I’m left-handed I need it on the left side my husband’s right handed needs it on the right side in the middle is perfect

Does anyone know what we can use to COVER the hole left in our concrete by a hand rail that we have removed to give us more space on the steps. We removed it and are now left with two holes in the concrete that are dangerous and collect stagnant water.
@AWhippet211 жыл бұрын
Are they easy to remove or are they cemented into the decking? We want to take ours out. It is just like this one. Thanks.

Well, where you place the rail depends on your steps, mine is 18 wide so the middle of the steps will be best

I need a handrail for my spa. Am thinking of the one that has smaller loop. And also want the kind that won't be hot to the touch as I live in Palm Springs. Please advise.

What are you using to drill through concrete deck and insert brass tightener?
@hughesjasonc13 жыл бұрын
@breeze344 I hear ya, but it's tough to walk up and down a 16" wide step with a handrail going through the middle of it:)

Not sure if required, but you should definitely bond the handrail anchor. Here's a link to explain: www.riverpoolsandspas.com/blog/bid/34682/pool-bonding-101-why-handrails-coping-and-water-could-shock-you

@@hughesjasonc what if you are not using anchors? We are installing post-remodeling. Thx.
@breeze34413 жыл бұрын
they don't have 10" wide feet; you only need a maximum of 8" to step on. 16" is quite wide enough. it just looks odd to set a handrail off so far to one side for years to come.

Rail should be in center

I'm about to have a pool rail installed but am conflicted. Why do you prefer the center?
@donnajeanmarycoopercapolup93974 жыл бұрын
We just had one installed in the center of the stairs. Not everyone is right-handed, plus it looks much better centered.
@brandonmullins71052 жыл бұрын
No bond huh? I hope you're insured. Any metal structure within 5 ft of a pool has to be tied into the bonding grid... the amount of quote pool professionals that don't know this is ridiculous.

i30,000+ pools in the ground since 1958 with no complaints about the 1st step being too small to step on. I'm trying not to look like a dick here; just that I'm a perfectionist and like things centered. no offense given.
