Horse riding for children with additional needs is so good. The children build such a relationship with the horses. It's very therapeutic. The horses seem to tune in with the child x

Go Beckham Go! I think as you get older you are going to be a little fish in the water, especially if it is warm. So glad that you all had a fun time as a family and especially Beckham with grandpa. So glad that Beckham can now enjoy the same things as everyone else, be included and be happy. Beckham's new shoes are cool too. I am so glad for him that he finally got new AFO's. Glad he has been standing a lot as well. Have Cerebral Palsy myself I know how important standing, alignment, AFOs, shoes, clothes are, and how they make me feel, better about myself in most cases so they may also make Beckham feel my comfortable which makes it easier on him. As for standing in his stander, yes it's very important, however if he is standing in the same position for an hour with his knees basically locked in place, it may hurt his knees towards the end of the hours or his feet might go to sleep a little. I know when I stand in wheelchair too long my knees sometimes hurt when to bend them to sit back down. As Beckham gets older I hope you will consider getting a more adjustable stander or a standing wheelchair for him that way the positions can be changed more easily. Again I am super happy that Beckham was able to get in the water and splash and kick his legs. Also glad for him that the surgery has given him so much more flexibility and movement. The one thing it hasn't given him, is "new legs" as the title of the video states....He was given way more movement and what appears to be reduced pain. Yay Beckham! Love and hugs from TN. XXXXOOOO Keep up the great work Beckham and have fun while you're doing it!

What a great video ! Water therapy is so important in a warm pool, around 90*F. A warm pool will help reduce contractures/spasms in the water. Contractures are a common condition with C.P. clients, patients. It is obvious Beckham likes the water, even if it is on the cold side. I don’t know if you have been alerted to Easter Seals aquatic therapy programs, but I m sure you could look up and then find out where Easter Seals operates their aquatic programs in your area.

YES! He loves warm pools, hot tubs, hot springs, everything you can think of! It's amazing.

@@HOUSEOFHUGHES_ I use to be an assistant to the PTs when Easter Seals came to our warm (90*F), YWCA pool, in Reading, PA, on Wednesday mid-mornings. I was the Pool Manager at that time. Are programs were very focused on Infant, toddler swimming lessons, and with Special Needs children and Outside Organizations focusing on the physical disabilities, working in water therapy, adaptations etc. I had a lot of time working together for my first in water therapy and teaching swimming lessons that included several children with C.P. I learned a lot from the PTs with Easter Seals and other Professionals. I took course and studied in the Physical Therapy Assistant program at a nearby college. I noticed when Beckham was in the pool water with Grandpa holding him so much on the steps, splashing, happy happy , faces, there are some opportunities for PawPaw could help Beckham do some kicking. He may have done it a few times not captured on video. I think I saw in one vlog a floating water mat for children and adults , but This a good tool for kicking on the stomach just below the hip level a lot of public pools will call these matts Magic Carpets l like Aladdin’s flying carpets, so these mats can be used with student on front and back. I have noticed you invested in quality Life Vests.👍👍 There are Under water adjustable platforms. Long noodles are great to wrap around the waist like ring buoy, less expensive, but still allowing some freedom. Many other tools pop too that can help parents teaching the toddler or children move around the pool on their own ability. I can see that you have invested in pool swimming tools. Bravo!!! I m so glad you are doing lots of time in the water for Beckham and Blakey. Warmer water, better for C.P. Client bc of water pressure does on the muscles, causing contracture, spasm, particularly the legs, so gentle stretching helps a lot. 💗🏊‍♀️🏊‍♂️💗🤽🏼🤽🏻‍♂️💗 ☮️💟🙏

Rachel when the pool water is too cold for the kids try that the long sleeve rash guard shirts for the kids that might help them adjust to the colder temperature and sometimes you can. You can even get the long pants for swimming as well.

Beckham’s grandpa, you’re a wonderful man for taking all of Beckham’s splashes so he could have a super time. I bet if someone held him, Beckham could stand really well in the pool. Blakely had a super time, too. My friends put their phones in zipper bags, the ones with the color change closures when they have their phones near water.

I go there every year with now my grandkids there is a place there u can stay that has their own hot pools and u get free breakfast the owners are really nice just fyi and they also have a very very like 2 inch shallow pool the kids love
