Ah bugger. I’m so disappointed for you both. Having said that, what an awesome episode and great memories. Who gets to swim with Turtles like that? Fingers crossed that you’re well on your way by now.

Thanks Sean. Those turtles were like therapy! Swam for ages with them at both Osprey and Oyster Stacks. The car break down was a downer for sure, especially the repeat dose. I’m just working out how to break up the update so I don’t have another long episode. But while painful, and some more lessons learned, there is light at the end of the tunnel. Cheers

@@nextleveloz My apologies I thought your defender was cutting out, as in stopping. Its going into limp mode. I had a SsangYong rexton and was having many issues when I first purchased the vehicle. With no help from mechanics as they simply didn't understand the technology. I ended up joining the international Facebook users group and started posting questions. And I was able to find a solution to my issues it was the crank sensor. Another issue was the thermostat. With these new cars 90% of the time it's a sensor of some sort. I was looking at buying a defender. I am now having second thoughts. Hopefully you sorted all your issues out.

@@trendstyledesign6446 Thanks for clarifying and yes, no questions they often have over sensitive sensors - and that’s not great either. But not the knock sensor in this case. Before you decide one way or the other and no it sure where you live, but the Australian New Defenders owners site has a good cross section of people on it from Landie fans to Landie skeptics and this in between. Join that and have a look at some of the commentaries both ways to help inform your decision. I’m deliberately bot telling people what they should buy - I’m sharing my experience as balanced as I can, but I’m not a fan club for or against any brand if you know what I mean. Thanks for watching and the sharing, all well meaning contributions (including those having a light hearted shot) are welcome.

Thanks for watching and your comment. We are happy to share and hope people enjoy and get something out of it - and of course we send the ad revenue to charity as well so we do some good as we travel. Yes cars are getting more complicated and they should overall be getting more reliable. Let’s see what the next couple of episodes bring and hopefully it clarifies what is happening and we can get back on our way.

Mate - simply brilliant. Whale sharks were exciting and tiring - and a bucket list just do. But that was go, go go. The turtles - so chill . Even doing the edits I got entranced by them all over again! I used to dive and funny enough because i grabbed my old dove bag and fins and even the mask, i found my old dive log 😂😂. The snorkeling on these Cape Range National Park beaches is great. Osprey for access and the turtles, Iyster stacks for the corals and marine life and the Turquoise Bay drift was also great.

@@peterbullen3347 Yep. In fact that’s one of the driving reasons we started this channel - to force us to edit regularly and post so our content didn’t just sit on cameras and drives (like the old slides and dusty photo albums in the cupboard). It does take a bit of time for sure - in our case I’m not a professional editor and we have to make do with the footage we have, but it does ensure you have your memories recorded in a nice and complete way! Give it a go - but not instead of watching our channel! 😂😂cheers

The only thing worse than a new car breaking down is a dealer that’s unable to fix it! Don’t give up on your trip 👍

Appreciate you watching and for the comment - one that normally I’d be 💯 with. But O will explain in the next episode or so why I have no issue with the service centre involved. They have to get technical assistance from JLR in cases like this where the costs are adding up - but in this case it works out that the fault codes indicate more than one issue. The vacuum harness definitely had to be replaced as it was kinked and the codes didn’t recur when reset and tested until it was under load - so the initial fix obscured a bigger issue. Hence why if something occurs while towing - it’s better to recover the van and test the repair while towing. But no? we hoped not to give up on the trip at the time - but we weren’t sure and that reaction was the reaction at the time, in the moment. 👍

@@paulsimpson8990 Thx and yes I get it in spades (the 2wd issue is still recurring) but as we will explain, the structural approach to the tow and repair second time round helped it identify the bigger issue specific to the limp mode fault.

Land Rover came from an excellent history of building Tough vehicles. Much the same as Toyota own this trademark now. English based vehicles with Electrical Problems are not a new thing ?? Past history of dealing with English based vehicles taught me long ago to stay clear of anything from an English car builder. It such a huge shame though ?? The Land Rover is such a Nice looking vehicle with comfort to match. But, they Never seem to solve the neverending issues with the Electrics ??? I'm not sure you will ever fix these dramas, more so you need to persevere when owning anything built by Land Rover. Generally most Land Rovers are rarely driven far from a dealer ?? In that when a problem arises with a vehicle they are not so difficult to return them to a dealer to resolve any issues. Something you are starting to understand for yourself. Recovering a vehicle is never easy, especially when the logistics of recovering a vehicle are in such a vast area, such as Western Australia. I can only be thankful for you, that a Land Rover dealer is available in Geraldton and not in Perth as I would have expected ?? I could imagine some level of frustration after buying a new vehicle to have it starting to let you down ?? Getting the Land Rover back from a dealer and planning what next ? It's so unfortunate that you are now heading South after planning to go in the opposite direction ?? Hopefully you can get a chance to visit Broome eventually. It is a very nice town to visit. But, it is a bit of a Tourist Trap for prices ??? Looking forward to your next video, with hopefully some better news 👍👍

Thanks for watching and the comment. LR have clearly placed a lot of stock in the Defender let’s hope they are up to it! As you will see on the next Lap episode we do eventually get on the road. I will do a separate more detailed review of the breakdown, response and repair process. It is a nice looking car and when it’s on song it’s terrific to drive on and off road and towing, but let’s hope we don’t have any more issues 🤞. thanks again.
