Try whole kernel corn. Just thread it on a hook. I use treble hooks. Or chicken livers. Leave the corn and livers out in the sun to rot for a couple of days. You’ll catch all the carp, gar, and cats you want!

I swim in Whitney Lake in Texas and we have alligator gars there as well. Never had one come up to me or anyone with me. We even jump off the cliffs into deep water where the big ones would be.

You guys should come up to North Carolina and do a underwater search video in a place called Kings Mountain Battleground. There is a lake there that people have been swimming at four years. You have to swim out to the middle to a platform where there is a diving board. But I could almost guarantee you would find a boatload of treasure in that lake. It’s a very well-known local place that has thousands of visitors every year

Hey Brandon, definitely check out Blue Springs state park in FL. When the manatees aren't in the spring, it's a swimmable spring where you can swim with gar and plenty of other fish in crystal clear waters. They also allow people with SCUBA certs to dive into the spring, but be careful as people have died in there.

I didn't know you could catch Gar on a rod and reel. We used to try to shoot them but it never worked. It was fun trying. Love the video. Keep up the good work and enjoy the wedding. Be careful driving. If you're coming through South Mississippi, let me know, I'll take you out to eat. I'm almost at the Alabama line. Exit 69. We do have a couple of blue holes in the area. I don't know if anyone can dive them though. Take care brother.
