Swing Season - The Slowdown

I’ve only been swinging flies for the last 20 years, and was the best thing I ever did when it came to fishing. I’ve actually moved away from high-sticking completely even for trout and will only swing nymphs, soft, hackles, streamers, or fish dries. It became a different game, not a numbers game, but much more satisfying when you do fool the most aggressive fish in the system. My personal opinion as someone who has fished OP every year for the last 15 years, is that all rivers in that system should be artificial, barbless, catch and release, including all the tribes, if you really want to save steelhead from becoming extinct altogether, and still enjoy the tug. Good on him for making that change at a young age.
