I didn't have to ask my husband to fix something else for me! you empowered me! thank you thank you thank you!!! my model was a little different in that instead of the two holes to feed the spring through it is one hole and a small plastic rod that fits into two notches in place of the second hole - it was a little tricky getting the spring around that while keeping it in place but your process worked for me to.

I wasn't able to get the metal piece off on top. But used a tie wire for a plastic bag to fish spring through holes. Wasn't easy, but did the trick. Thanks for showing where the spring goes. Wouldn't been able to figure out unless I looked at another stapler.

although I'm using a Stanley Bostitch Model 626. This video helped the only thing different was how to pull out the stainless steel part so I could have access of the back parts to thread the spring coil Thanks you saved me a trip to the store to buy a new one

Thanks! I fixed my Stanley Bostitch stapler using the same basic idea, although I couldn't do step 1. I had to use an unfolded paper clip to hook the spring and get it through one of the two holes.
