curious why you just didn't go full hydraulic steering.

Good question. There are a few drawbacks to full hydro. It's not "ussly" street legal. Believe it or not, I am trying to keep this rig street legal. LOL :) There's very little feedback with full hydro. We have a forklift at work that is full hydro. I am always loosing wheel position on the thing. Drive me nuts! And you have no steering when the engine is off. Beyond the safety aspect of this, I will inevitably have to move my jeep while the engine isn't running. So having steering during this time is actually quite important. :)
