Turns out Scald has a pretty big effect on reducing enemy attack! This is because it causes burn. So it's not a trait unique to Scald, but rather the burn status effect. No, the scald burn effect for physical attack is more pronounced than the other burns. This is specific to scalds burn. I'm not sure what the other debuffs for burn are, but I think they were around 10-15%.

That's exactly what I said. Burn causes damage reduction, slowbro however has a pretty steep reduction.

i still like surf because i like being able to set the enemy player up for my teammate to take down, also i just like using it as my 2nd eject option if needed.

also - you can eject button backwards right before you pull with telekinesis to pull them even further

Speaking about telekinesis, this is the first thing I didn't know, also the telekinesis surf combo is true... Also if no teammates are around you can use surf(or scald) then use telekinesis and wait for your surf cooldown to return.

I like to use the Telekinesis pull with Slow Smoke. Catches a lot of people off guard. Especially if they already used their Eject Button. Easy pickings

I actually think Scald is slept on. It makes Slowbro tankier because of the HP recovery you mentioned and it also reduces the attack stat of anyone burned. Along with Amnesia, focus band, and maybe potion as your item, you can really hang in on the front lines for a long time and tank a lot of hits. I don't think you mentioned the defense buff Amnesia gives you too. That helps too

if youre playying defense, the burn that scald provides will continue to stop them from scoring goals. so yeah, its slept on.

Wow. You didn’t mention that the scald burn is special and reduces physical attack by 30%. It is basically the debuff version of Helping Hand. Do any youtubers know of the mathcord? It doesn’t seem like it. EDIT: Upon looking at this comment again later I feel it came off as very harsh. Wasn't my intent. Actually wanted to point out that while I did know about the second press bringing people in with tk, I didn't know about it bringing people through walls/barriers/etc and the fact that ground targeted moves don't affect the enemy being held. So kudos. Just please get into the Unite Mathcord so that you can get up to date on the damage formulas and other neat info like the fact that Scald is the ultimate physical attacker debuff.

@@Winterhe4rt The Unite mathcord is a place where a ton of labbers work on things. They have already identified a lot of the various attack and abiility formulas, as well as the defense formulas of the game. They collaborate a lot with Unite-Db, but seribii is also in on it as well.

Okay guys, pls tell me if im super wrong or something but... i play Slowbro with Scald + amnesia and i use 'focus band + wise glasses + Shellbell. And a Potion. This build makes me so tanky with awsome survivabilty. The amount of lost HP that you can regain with Amnesia and scald is insane. Plus i can level up pretty fast aswell cause the damage output is very constant and steady. You dont have any cc but you have constant pressure cause of the low cd on scald, plus you regain more health since you use scald more often then surf. It has a slow effect aswell when ppl try to run off. And with such a tanky character i like to have a Potion cause the CD on it is much lower then the eject button. With this build i feel i can play the defender roll really well and hold lanes on my own sometimes.

I found Scald better.... Won way more with it then lost in random que. Surf is amazing for melee focused teams.... It struggles with ranged foes. Scald has just enough range and Cooldown to allow Slowbro enough survivability against ranged pokemon like Cinderace and Greninja. Overall I think you need to use his particular builds based on the team your entangled with. Know your opposition and play his kit accordingly.

I was just thinking this. And im sure it applies to multiple pokemon. They all have different moves you can choose for a reason. I think now im gonna always run telekinesis but alternate between scald and surf depending on the matchup.
