Swiss Alps | Day Hike: Eiger Trail, Kleine Scheidegg to Alpiglen along Eiger North Wall

I rode a train from Lauterbrunnen to Kleine Scheidegg and started hiking Eiger Trail. Parallel to the newly opened Eiger Express cableway, the trail is full of wildflowers, and a breathtaking overlook of Grindelwald Valley, and it gets very close to the world-famous Eiger North face wall! After encountering a herd of cows, the trail ends at Alpiglen but I continued hiking up the farm road to Kleine Scheidegg. The view from the train - Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, and Lauterbrunnen Valley is unreal, don’t miss it at the end!

Wonderful! That part of Switzerland is incredibly beautiful. I wish I had more time to explore the area... I spent more time in Zermatt last year, hopefully more time in Jungfrau area next time! Enjoy your hike!!

You must be exploring many places in the area! I stayed in Lauterbrunnen for 5 days, there is so much to explore... just not enough time. I didn't get to visit Grindelwald at this time, I really need to go back there and spend more time in the future.

Was your journey back Alpiglen to Kleine Scheidegg a different route from the Eiger Trail. Is it less strenuous or more than the Eiger Trail? I can see that it took only 1 hour 40 minutes.

The dirt road I hiked from Alpiglen to Kleine Scheidegg was less strenuous than Eiger trail. It was a gentle climb but less scenic. The view from Eiger Trail, especially looking up the Eiger northwall, is stunning! Thank you for watching! If you are going there, enjoy the trail!
