Now I don't usually chuckle when I'm gandering at military drills or the like....But I can't get over the hilarious fact that ALL of their commands are one syllable and sound as if they only have three letters to bear in each one! Much respect to the Swiss soldiers/guards, what a brave bunch they were, especially before neutrality!

nein er meint die SIG 552 Commando! Aber die Garde hat auch die SIG 550 und 553 und natürlich die SIG Sauer P220 und 229! Alles klar? ;-)

Alan Bispo Essa é umas das unidades militares mais difíceis de entrar no mundo; você precisa ser suíço (ou pelo menos naturalizado), ter mais ou menos um 1,83m de altura, servir o exército suíço, passar por um treinamento rígido, e aí sim você poderá fazer o teste. Lembrando que você precisa ser de alguma das melhores divisões militares que há na suíça, ou seja, além de ter que servir o Exército Suíço, vai ter que fazer treinamento para ir para outra divisão mais preparada, e dessa passar para a Guarda Suíça.

ah, e além de todo esse treinamento vem o principal, ser tenente a Deus e a igreja católica e ter uma fé inabalável.

@dies1domini Alright, thanks for making your point. But honestly, I do not know enough about the history of the Swiss Guard or even Swiss military engagements in the last 2000 years. The last things I do remember are Caesar slaughtering the Helvetians and William Tell firing his Crossbow

This has to do with the training in the Swiss Army. We do more shooting than drill, you know, we don't have too much time for niceties. In any case, on the last day in Nijmegen, when all Dutch along the road do their best to get you out of step it's the Swiss Guard who never miss a step.
