@@lifeofbird7705 there’s a few problems for 1 the map selection is worse as MFS has the entire planet to fly in and the cost DCS is a “free”game but it’s like playing a demo in the base game to get a truly good experience you buy an aircraft which can be as expensive as 70$ USD for 1 plane and 3rd it doesn’t have nearly as many planes as MFS with 20 base game planes

I've seen people get away with using a controller on the simpler aircraft but the full fidelity ones you ideally want a hotas, pedals and head tracker to get the most out of it.

The reasons that there is no damage is nothing to do with what Manufacturers or Airlines worried about their reputation - it is because the point of MSFS is to simulate flight or identify that you have failed in that purpose (simple 'you crashed' screen) - just like the Level D simulators. It is also an environment which focuses on the joy of flight without the need for combat or adversarial gameplay which exists pretty much everywhere else. For people looking for 'more fun' - look to DCS.

question here: when you're flying a mod like the f35 in online multiplayer, what plane do other players see? most players won't have the specific mod you're using installed, especially payware mods like the concorde or dc6, which aren't cheap...

I get the MSFS is mostly a scenery/weather game but to be able to fire a few basic weapons and have a smoking damaged harder to control plane and a simple explosion animation would go instead of having the screen go black would add alot to the game. I really liked flying the combat flight simulator where I could land sideways, rip off one of the wings, go into a crazy spiral and explode/pieces of the plane flying everywhere.

Faster than the missiles?… lmfao.. Yes, if you can somehow get the aircraft to go over Mach 3. The missile gains the inertia of the aircraft and adds to it with it’s own motor. It would be literally impossible to catch up to a missile you fire, unless you are an SR-71 that can fire sidewinders and even then it would probably just disintegrate from the force of being fired at Mach 3.2 and it’s motor pushing it to Mach 5+
