I came to the comments to s**t on Orbis, but they actually do spend a very low amount of money on fundraising (3.1% vs 8%+ from the 'Save the Children' grifters) and do well matching outgoings to what they've raised. Seems like a worthy organization.

@@thecaynuck4694 They don't fly with patients onboard. It's a portable hospital, they land in places where there are no eye hospitals and when the patients are done with their surgery they are transported to a care facility.

When the orbitis flying hospital first came out you could press fly, but you would just spawn in 1st person in the plane, but once i pressed the button for the accelerator it took off whilat i was still in the corridor

I've actually toured the flying eye hospital in real life. It's a fully functional hospital and the only requirement for it to work is a water connection. They got the interior pretty much perfect.

I live in the California Bay Area and there’s a military airfield called Moffett and once in a while, the Orbis hospital plane is kept there when not being flown elsewhere and it would’ve been awesome to see this plane work in the game. I hope they fix this glitch soon

Dumb question: do they actually perform eye surgery on a patient while the aircraft is in flight? I can only imagine what would happen if the plane hit bad turbulence when they are trying to operate on a patient.

No operation is performed in the air. What they do is travel to other parts of the world where they train local doctors and perform operations for free. Then it does to its next destination and so on.

I’ve seen the plane, and I even got to go inside of it for a tour. It was in Mountain View, and then it waited a lot of time before it flew to Jamaica. Then it came back... for a reason I don’t really know.
