Hallo Herr Caputo - another great educational presentation. I do have a comment though: You said that it is often difficult for a person to get their money out of certain locations ie Dubai, the Carribean etc. Well you yourself have said it can also be difficult for a person to get their own legitimate funds from their Swiss bank. I have heard from a number of people in the finance industry that said that Swiss banks will make it very awkward to remove a persons money. What would you say to someone who is considering putting clean money in a Swiss bank but is worried that the bank will restrict access to the funds? Regards

I know from cases Swiss banks refused to give the funds back. This will be the case if the assets are leverage with Lombard credits. If your portfolio is pledged you have first to pay back the loan before the bank will allow you to move your money away. That's quite frequent. Leverage with Lombard loans is quite frequent. Lombard loans are risky. It can make sense in particular circumstances. If your funds are not pledged Swiss banks will allow moving your money away. Swiss banks are regulated by FINMA. The bank will try to keep you as a client but at the end of the day, you will be in a position to move your money out in Switzerland. This is not the case in many other jurisdictions. I saw it many times in Dubai where local banks in Dubai refused to send money out or back to Europe again. Dubai bankers are very creative in inventing stupid justifications why the funds cant be moved out of the bank. In Lebanon, for example, we have political problems hindering investors from moving money out of Lebanon.

Well internet is full of fake banks. But its worst advice to store your money in a bank from a different country from where your most of the income comes. IN forever.

This information is crucial nowadays. This is especially important for Brazil. Brazilian Real devalued more than 100% in just 2-3 years. Conclusion: The Brazilian that had a plan B ended up gaining a lot of money with the crisis, just based on the currency exchange.

This Brazilian example shows that just by switching into Swiss franc, without dong any investments in shares or bonds you can preserve the buyingpower and make money.

Why do you think Lichtenstein is not a very good option for wealth management and especially asset protection? I see Lichtenstein at least second or on the same place as Switzerland.

Because the best option is Switzerland. Liechtenstein is full with conflicts of interests. Too small to be good.
