Personally based on the video I would go for the flat tile Matt, so definitely worth stocking. I like the less trippy appearance to the ribtrax. Also I think the smooth will be better for rolling or jacking on and might even be better to walk on over time I suspect. Looks cleaner, however only time will tell how they hold up. Bonus that they are cheaper too 👍🏼

The 'trippy' look is a selling point for many. It's what did it for me.

I do like the look of the flat better, not that there is anything wrong with the ribtrax, just a slightly cleaner aesthetic to my eye.

Hi Matt, The smooth look pretty good. Like you said … more modern. I have remember RaceTrac flooring and my only problem with Swisstrax and RaceDeck is the checker board look. Initially I will say the smooth looks better because it reflects light differently and looks less checker boardy. Give me a vented floor and less busy and I think that is the future 👍

I hope you can leave a decent sized area with the smooth and eco to see if dirt does noticeably collect on the surface. I would think it will but would be interesting to see how they look in a month or two. Maybe do a temp install at the wash bay shop room?

That's a good idea.

@@ObsessedGarage Any updates here? I also live in Florida by the beach so the idea of sand, dirt, and leaves falling through is nice, however, I also have rolling cabinets and stools and jackstands that I think would be annoying on the ribs? Conundrum how about underfoot bare vs shoes about the same?
@omgitsrawz9336 жыл бұрын
Could definitely be a better option for people who roll around a lot of things in their shop/garage.

Hard to tell from the video, but it looks like the smooth tiles have a smaller gap between each rib vs regular ribtrax. I imagine that will lead to a little more dirt sitting on top. Either way, I think I'm going to go w/ the eco smooth. That they're a bit cheaper is a bonus.
@ObsessedHouse6 жыл бұрын
maaaan i think they should be cheaper, it's thinner, less plastic used in the injection mold process, weighs less, would be less weight for shipping, etc. if it were $2.95/sq ft that might be the winner for me. i have a 900 sq ft garage, i think i'll just epoxy it for now, still undecided. going to order the bendpak tomorrow.

The less dense Eco tiles are the cheaper option. They released the Smooth tiles at the same price point as the regular Ribtrax.

That company must make an absolute killing off of this product. I think it looks great but that’s a luxury I can’t afford

Good epoxy is $5+ per square foot so IDK why you think these are expensive. They're also repairable.

I have one step up and a small platform in my garage going into the house. What adhesive do you recommend to cover the step/platform with matching tiles? Thanks for any info.

The rounded Ribtrax are horrible for floor jacks. Once you get some weight on the on the jack, it doesn't want to move. I bet the smooth would help with that!

Are the eco tiles able to withstand the same amount of weight on top? Or are the rated for less weight?
@ObsessedGarage6 жыл бұрын
They are rated 1250PSI and 40,000 lb rolling weight capable. The regular is 2500 PSI, 60,000 lb.

Does anyone make a rubbertrax like product? So something like a swisstrax but a slightly softer more giving material, that is also super sturdy?
@ObsessedGarage6 жыл бұрын
Once you introduce rubber, the connections are too soft for the weight of cars to drive over.
@RockyColaFizz6 жыл бұрын
Obsessed Garage Agreed. I am wondering if there is another plastic that could be softer than the hard trax stuff. I suspect that product would be very popular

I am wondering about the longevity of these. I do a lot of metal work in the garage, lift heavy trucks, spill a lot of fluid, I am worried about the durability of these. Does anyone have a long term review?

Wow this stuff looks great! I think I would also prefer the smooth, flat type. Anything with wheels would roll easier, and small nuts and bolts look like they’d be less likely to fall through the cracks. Maybe one day if we ever move to a “forever” house.
@dave39526 жыл бұрын
I prefer the flat, the cracks in the tiles aren't as pronounced
