What an inspiring story. I've seen watches with lesser finishing from educated watchmakers. Keep it up! Thanks Marko for giving microbrands a stage.

One of my favorite watch channels due to the simple fact you bring light on watch makers that aren't well known and the catalogue of watches you've shown on this channel!

As always, thank you Marko for featuring these self-taught watchmakers. Their ingenuity, artistry, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial drive are such an inspiration. You are performing a great service to those who love watches, by featuring these lesser known independent artisans.

Australian watchmaking is literally bonkers! It’s really puzzling seeing how many great microbrands hail from down under and seeing a true watchmaker (and such a young one) emerging from Australia is really great!

I bought my first nice watch in 1988, an Omega Constellation, have owned some 3 dozen watches over the last 3 decades+ nowI own a Rolex 126715CHNR "Root Beer" , an Omega Ed White Cal 321, and a Vacheron Constantin 4500V in Rose Gold.... I don't know, you tell me, am I a watch collector? This guy is a natural gifted watch maker!

It was so great to see Reuben on your show Marko. I have been following him on his watchmaking journey and found it fascinating that he was building a George Daniels pocket watch and now we get to see his beautiful wrist watch-what an accomplishment.

You must be kidding?! Autodidact trying the hardest (Daniels manual method) way from the start. Wow! Future challenge may be a coaxial escapement.

Thanks for introducing an Aussie watchmaker to us Marko. Good to hear Lindsey mentioned a master engineer who has designed and built numerous machines. Canberra also has a great horological club. Good luck Ruben.

TBF his work for a self taught is beyond reproach although obviously a bit rough and ready in prototype form. within a few years he will be Roger Smith level which is a huge achievement if he continues to progress along the Daniels school of watchmaking

Brother Marko I am not sure if this is the right place to ask the question but I recently acquired a watch without doing proper investigation just by seeing the clasp which had ''Glashutte Original'' carved on it and had a glass back and on the movement was written ''Glashutte 1/SA 17 jewels'' but the Dial said GUB and nothing else. I tried to search the internet for similar looking watches but only two results came up and those watches had no bracelet like mine and had aftermarket straps and were described as GUB from the early 90s. Could you please enlighten us about the difference between GUB and Glashutte Original, I was fooled by the inscription on the bracelet but I paid very little for the watch so I am not hurt that much. Why did GUB have Glashutte Original inscription on the bracelet it's quite puzzling and the bracelet seems very genuine

Three diseases AND two parasites, if you were a poker player, that would be a full house!!!....Unitas 6498(7), base movement???????????...That Hand engraving is very neat, its almost Panograth with sheriffs, , but i think it is, its all by hand graver, if so awsome...Gabriel Fossey, on their hand made did the scarping finish also, i think too teh Aviraiva guy....we used to scrape the old lathe beds during my apprentership days, after learning on a a mini surface plate which we made the tool, like a carbide, slightly curved chisel end, clamped onto a a mild steel handle....hes right , the alternate directions'of scraping, with micro boundries, help to keep a reservoir, if you like, of lubricate between the two sliding surfaces
