you can update with the newest files and stay on your ofw if you like to, cfw files support always all lower updates

I have a question, does anyone cfw emmuc just randomly crashes or freeze when playing or booting up a game? If so any tips on how to fix that problem?

If you just saved to your SD Folder that's the problem because it tends to get corrupted over time... Your best bet is to create a SD Partition of 30gb or till it says full just move the red slider you'll see. It takes longer but it's worth the wait.
