When Nintendo Switch Sports was finally announced after years of fan outcry, it seemed like a dream come true. Once the dust settled, however, the cracks began to show. Why does this new entry in the series feel so different from the Wii Sports we all know and love? What made Wii Sports special to begin with? Does Switch Sports fail as a sequel? For me... Switch Sports was okay but it lacked the tactile sensations of Wii Sports. There is simply a difference between swinging a Wiimote and a Joy Con. The Wiimote kinda felt like swinging a tennis racket and the Joy Con... is just too small and too light to provide the same thing.

i love wii sports so much it's one of the best games on the wii, and i was a little upset but mad that the mii are not even the main characters but i play a lot of wii training bc of matt

I can definitely see that the aesthetics feel less immersive on Switch Sports. I do enjoy music, but it does feel distracting when used wrong. And who could even forget about the sportsmates being off-putting due to their limitations and style inconsistencies. Now I know that it's now like a time where people already stopped caring about the game, and I don't unsee the disappointment of content lack at launch.

The character designs and music are nice, but yeah... the game feels like a cashgrab for Wii nostalgia. Miitopia was the last good Mii game before they went downhill.

Nintendo also made a horrible sequel to the Mario Strikers series the exact same year as Nintendo Switch Sports which removed all the good qualities of the Strikers series and left it as a soulless soccer game with no creativity, characters, or content. Mario Strikers: Battle League is probably one of the worst Mario games to have ever been created, and it is funny how Nintendo made two horrible sequels to beloved Wii titles (though Mario Strikers started off as a GameCube game but still) which removed all the stuff peopled liked about those games in the first place.

You should make a video talking about how Mario Strikers: Battle League is the worst Mario Strikers game. It honestly is one of the worst sequels I have seen in any piece of media ever cause it removed everything good from the Strikers series and had nothing new and also had no content or characters at all.

@@MontyMoleLoreMaster it literally gave 10 characters, THE ALL TOTALLY NEW GEAR FEATURE!!!!!!!!, identical stages 5 stages, and all the grit and hardcore atmosphere sucked dry with the promise of free updates that will complete the game in over a year all for 60$🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️. Nintendo has done far better with a smaller budget and this is what they give us???

@@julienherard414 I want to remind you that Mario Pinball Land was rushed and only made in a year and came out in 2004 and was made by a newcomer studio, yet it has plenty of original and unique ideas and gave Monty Mole a unique costume for every level they appeared in. Say you want about the game, but it still had more effort Mario Strikers: Battle League ever did and it was literally made in less than a year and on an inferior handheld device. Also yeah I agree with what you said about Mario Strikers: Battle League, it is such a soulless cashgrab that removed everything good from the Strikers series in favor of making it Mario Soccer: Ultra Smash.

Even though you made this clear and upfront near the start of the video, I still think it's absurd to say "I have never played Switch Sports" before confidently diving into a video called "Why Switch Sports Fails as a Sequel" and I'm really not sure how you can expect a 17 minute video on the subject to... even work. If you're going into your video essay on the basis of "I mastered all of the sports in one game before the video and then only talked to someone about the second game", it has already failed at the first hurdle. It can almost be dismissed out of hand immediately (except it won't, because it mirrors the popular opinion anyway and people want to hear what they already want to hear). How much did you really think this aspect through? Your disclaimers do not do enough to make up for the fact that the very idea of this video can't be taken seriously from the outset. It's not an opinion that has *any* value as it stands, and I'm afraid I don't think this video works at all as a result.

@@howiieb I played the game. The miis definitely look cursed, and honestly all of the games are a lot less fun than their original counterparts, especially chambara, or in the case of the new ones, either not interesting in the slightest, or straight up forgettable.

@@MrtheFckface The reason the miis look bad in the game is not the arms - it's because miis are a relic of a console that couldn't even output in HD, they do not stand up even remotely to a modern game to today's graphical standards, and they needed replacing. It's not the arms, it's Miis being not fit for purpose. Chambara is literally the exact same game as in resort, how is it less fun??
