I have a silly question, why bother turning it on and off? They go into deep sleep fast enough that the battery will last a long time. In my case, I bought that exact same rainy pro back in April on ALI Express for 139 all in. I have since decided to throw caution into the wind with all my boards and just leave them on all the time. I mean, what’s the worst thing that could happen? You simply have to plug it in for a while to recharge it? What does bug me though with the lack of on board storage for the silly USB dongles. Pretty sure I lost mine for the rainy by now. Great video though, fun to see them all on the table at once!

I think part of it is a holdover from when custom keyboards were truly an enthusiast hobby. When I first got into building keyboards for myself and others most kits were pre-order or group buy only and very exclusive (with a price tag to boot) so they had cool custom backplates to differentiate themselves and give the buyer something that feels like it deserves to be $300+ just for the case (it didn't). It also was much more of a collection thing, you probably didn't have just one custom so you'd display the ones you aren't using. Now people who would have scoffed at buying a $350-600 or more keyboard and been perfectly happy with a razer have access to amazing keyboards like the Rainy75 (which is great!) but that also means they may not appreciate the same things that influenced mechanical keyboard designs. Overall though very grateful for how affordable the hobby is getting from barebones kits that are readily available, pre-lubed switches and stabs that are actually lubed well (and much cheaper), and quality key caps that you don't have to get from a group buy.

The Rainy 75 was I believe 110 on prime day, and that was pretty fantastic. The standard versions PP plate and HMX switch combo is amazing. I got mine from the original crowdfund, and all I did to mine was switch to Shenpo PBT keycaps (2048 JP set) which are really lovely and durable, and I swapped the stabs to some TPU doubleshot ones from a monsgeek board which need no work, and it has been going strong with zero issues for months now... it's incredibly satisfying to type on, better than so many other board and switch combos I tried, and a more clacky build from someone who thought they preferred a more thocky muted sound profile but like this more now when it's so crisp and clean without echo because it's still filled with foam, just uses HMX + PET sheet to really stay super sharp despite that.

1)chilkey 75 2)rainy 75 3)bridge 75 Chilkey 75 because it offers three different mountains and it offers a non-flux cut board. Flex I know most people who watch this want really foamy flexi boards, but the way it sounds top mounted with a non-flex cut board and minimal foam is amazing.

What she doesn't point out about the Chilkey 75 is you can get it either with a flex cut or a non-flex cut PCB... It also offers three different mounting styles right out of the box so you can change it from from silicone gasket mount, O-Ring mount and top mount. So what I'm saying is this is an incredible keyboard for people who really are looking to learn how to mod keyboards. It gives you a lot of freedom and it really does behave a lot more like a $400 board except for the weird ribbon cable on the screen.

@SwitchandClickOfficial I don't want to sound arrogant, but I checked some of the info from the video because it seemed absurd and I am really interested if you read manufacturers page before a review. Wormier for example, on their store page, describes that you only need to switch the ON switch once and that's it. Switching between Bluetooth, wired and wireless connections is handled with key bindings. Also, you dont need to turn it OFF when not in use because it has a clever standby feature which drains the battery minimally.
@darklighter173 ай бұрын
You've given a reason why people switch off their keyboards, and that is to preserve battery even more.
@teosenecic31413 ай бұрын
@@darklighter17 not really. Fliping the switch that many times, even if would be located on the outside of the case, takes as much time as just pluging it once for chargin every month. Benefit is that the keyboard is always ready to go. Same principal is used with wireless mouses and nobody is complaining...

I have or have reviewed all of these but the XVX and Bridge but I do have another... the RD75 by Womier which is probably my favorite out of all of them. Most of them I have left stock and may even sell but I put HMX Xinhai and DCX BoW on the P75 and I'm addicted to the sound. I enjoy the typing angle so much on the AL75 I actually put GMK Blue Samurai and Haimu Sky in it to bring down the clack and it's frankly fantastic. Neither have cool weights and are lighter than the others but for some reason I enjoy them a lot. I also really like the P1 Pro. I did the kickstarter on that one and had a bad PBC. As I have a number of other Keychon boards and never had an issue I was curious how much help they would be. I have to say that their support was excellent. Rather than a new board I just had them ship me the PCB which got here quickly. The only thing I have noticed is that the way the P1 is made the spacebar switch doesn't sit as well as it should so I have to keep some of the surrounding screws a little loose or it simply sounds terrible. Check out the RD75 when you get a chance, I think you will be very impressed! While it can't make the list due to the price, to me the QK Evo80 is the best pre-built I have ever used, followed closely by the Luminkey 65. Both of those are about $180 or so though... closer to $200 with shipping but definitely worth it IMHO.

I've been trying to get back on the mechanical keyboard game again, but my last experience wasn't good. I built an ISO Spanish CU65, but now it's bricked (not sure why) and am looking to replace it for maybe a 75% layout option. I love the Rainy75, or Womier SK75, but they don't offer an ISO layout option. Lemokey P1 and other Keychron options do offer that, but they don't seem as good as something like the Rainy75 and are more expensive. What else is out there? Even barebones? Thanks in advance!

It was very picky about which USB ports I had to be plugged into to work, but it didn't give an error when it failed to. It just ... did nothing. And the firmware updater was worse. In some USB ports, it would just give "device jump dfu mode" and then "error1" with no explanation. Switching off to another port, and it would work ... but running INSTANTLY after opening the EXE, with no warnings or confirmations or interactivity. It's going back to Amazon.

My favorite is the Yunzii because it's the one that I own. I also considered the Rainy and the Womier before making my purchase. The decision came down to availability on Amazon. My need for instant gratification overtook me. Love that overnight delivery.

As someone who works in Fraud Detection for a large Financial Tech company, the suspicious customer support comment is tooo funny! It is a sad reality that not everyone is honest. Have to be careful for sure.
