Switching springs in the bellows of a Paul & Co. Harmonium

I have an old harmonium and bellows don’t go back easily after I press so I have to push it out. I am thinking that it may not have spring or spring May have gone bad. Is there a website where I can order the spring to be delivered to US address?

I tried doing this but was unable to remove the panel. Is the wood backing on the panel also glued to the bellow in addition to being screwed on?

It is not glued but inserted in. You’ll have to pull it out carefully to not let the felt come out. Otherwise you’ll have to stick that too. You may need to use some force to pull it out.

So you want the spring on the side your hand is pumping at, or the opposite side of where you are pumping it? You say left and right in the video, but is it left and right from the piano keys side of the harmonium, or from the back from where you guys are screwing the spring in at?

Hello Alison, if you pump the harmonium with your left hand the spring should be on the opposite side (right side). and Vice Versa

What will happen if we remove the spring. My 9yr old daughter is feeling hard to pump the bellows. If we remove the spring, can she still play the harmonium as before? Can you please guide me

You can remove the spring if you want the bellow to be soft but the bellow will not bounce back .So you have to physically push the bellow back and forth.
