the 9U is probably the most capable Yak in the tree. better diver than the 3, more powerful than the previous 9s and more agile than the 9P. the plane I most enjoyed in the tree probably (along with the 9UT with the extra punch)

@@apiece_ nah, acording to the forum spreadsheets their empty weight is the same and the 3P is like 3kg heavier on a normal take off. They do however state that the 3 is ~10km/h faster at optimal speed than the 3P for some reason. I have always trusted these sheets but this does seem odd. It also states the Yak-3 has a smaller turn radius.

Really love the 9u! Repair cost is the only issue but it gives more SL getting kills. I earn around 30k in a 3-4 kill match (50k if premium). Shvak tracers are really good now :D

HAHAHAHHA love that ending, yeah be careful to not pull too early because expert pilots will aim towards your general area. Remember, you are not aiming at the plane you are aiming at where the plane is going to be next that´s why you need to aim further, but overall your aim is certainly exceptional, this part 8:08 was awesome. The bias is insane for Russian yaks. Played a game today where I was in my F4U-4 Corsair at 24,000ft going 315mph. Flew over a yak3 a mile above him. I dove down on him to get on his 6 got within .75 miles then he rolled left and pulled up. I pulled out of my -5 degree dive at 19,000ft going 355mph ias(indicated airspeed) 43mlh tas(true airspeed). Next thing you know the yak3 shot my wing off. So much for they can’t perform above 16,500ft. So much for they have a low wing rip speed. I deleted the game and will never play again.

@@sargesacker2599 Though the best part with being an American pilot is that **even if** you played competently against an incompetent 109 pilot. i.e a 109 G-6 literally attempting to spike me in a P-47D-28 from 800m below with 450 kph, they *will* complain and usually say something about being a noob and avoiding the head-on and instead spiraling above it until it stalled and flipped. After getting an extremely clear shot, they rant in chat and I just insult the 109s in the chat to screw with them, they deserve it. "huuuuuuuur muh superior energy retention duuuuuuuuuurrrrr" " 'muh 109 superior over inferior american aircraft hurrrrrrrrr' " (mostly insulting them cause they just play dumb with their 'superior' aircraft.) Then the match ends and I am satisfied as an American pilot.

The Yak-3U is ungodly good as well for its br. I mean hell it has better performance than the La-9. Only problem is the armament, which isnt much of a problem if u drain their energy before shooting.

@@vannisettineri555 maintain 350kmh at around 18 degrees, since you have so much straight line speed as well as climb, you meet the enemy at 3km, with you above them. So far I'm 13 deaths and 160 kills.

I haven't flown any of these planes, but if the Yak-9UT is very similar to the Yak-9U and if my experience in a test flight of a 'spaded' Ta-152H is corrent, then the Yak-9UT is going to win everytime. The Yak-9UT turns a lot tighter than the Ta-152H and has a better climb rate. No one can run from this fight and gain the altitude advantage as they are about as fast at sea level. The Yak-9UT also has better guns for a ''knife fight'', being of a higher velocity and higher rate of fire.

I love the yak 9U, it is one of my favourite planes, but the repair cost is a real *****. I prefer it over the yak 3 for its higher ammo load, better speed limit and higher speed at altitude. Why is it that when you set someone on fire your teammates think this is a signal to shoot that plane down? As if you somehow now need help! If I see someone on fire I leave them and go target an actual threat. I have had so many kills stolen because I want to conserve ammo or altitude. It is as annoying as when you see 4 teammates chase down a burning bomber throwing away all of their altitude just to try to score 1 kill. I just can’t comprehend the mindset of players who sacrifice tactical position to score an easy kill. They leave themselves easy prey for the next fighter and lose the match. I would rather win and get a better reward than lose and get 5 kills.

just dont trunfight, you have far better engine, if he reachse 600-700km/h IAS is gonna compress or break the wigns (all rusian planes are the same in that matter ) you will not, and try to always keep your speed up, you dont have to stay in long turnfights against nobody most likely you are gonna loose.

Yes I know if you go over 600 you can almost get away- but they still catch me or it takes a second to get up to that speed. And just because you get away, he’s still behind you and I’ve never found a way to actually build an energy advantage against one to where I can win.

Keeping a p51 over 600 is a very very difficult thing to do. Staying over 400 works with every other plane, but not yaks, so you have to dive and then he just follows you until you have to turn and then you die

If you're talking about the P-51 D-5, there's pretty much nothing you can do. Yak-9U outruns and outclimbs you, and the turn rate is pretty similar (I think 9U will actually out-turn you in many cases, especially at somewhat higher speeds). In the D-30 you can at least extend away from the Yak and your high-altitude performance is way better.
