This just puts a lump in my throat. We’re at the downsizing, painting fixing cleaning house to get ready for sale. The stressful part of what’s to come. We’re about two months away from “that side of heaven”. I can’t quit saying oh my gosh with those waterfalls. We’re almost there. Thank you so much for sharing your journey.🥰

I took my minivan over the Going to the Sun road in 2005, still looks wonderful! Great video too! Why not switch the battery between your two bikes about 1/2 way up the mountain, so that you both will get the same mileage going back down the hill? The second thought would be to buy a extra battery for those very long bike trips. I was thinking it would be wonderful to have a electric bike with regenerative braking, but that adds weight and cost to the bike, where a second battery would work better, less expensive. But it would not wear out the brakes on the downhill at Glacier NP. I am thinking about going to the RV heavy duty truck rally in Caldwell Idaho June 12 - 20th 2023.

Again, forest rangers call Bear bells, "Dinner Bells" because they attract cubs who are then followed by their mama bears. Don't use bear bells, use your voice...sing, whatever. And make sure you have bear spray in Glacier. There are usually attacks every year in the park. Hidden Lake is well known for grizzlies, so is the hike to Iceberg Lake. You can rent bear spray, but don't go without it. My first time in the park I came around a curve in the trail to Iceberg and found myself about thirty feet from a large grizzly. I had bear spray, but I didn't have to use it as I slowly backed away around the curve back to my group. We then started making noise which scared the bear away. I have had encounters with grizzlies several times (not as close as the first time) and am happy that I have the bear spray.

We drove the Going to the Sun road, was amazing, I'm sure it was better to ride bikes than to drive. We also went to the Many Glacier Hotel, and took the ferry and hike all the way to upper Grinnell lake. You should do that, just don't tell Todd the distance. Saw a couple of bears and experienced snow, hail, sun and wind along that hike, but was well worth the views.

I just got my transplant June 22nd I am going home tomorrow June 28th and we ready to get back out on the and Hemingway bike looks like what want. We are a owner in 800 acre horse ranch RV park in North Georgia but live in Savannah Ga. We love the mountains so much. Sorry I am rambling because Video was so beautiful that we now can travel long distance. But anyway would the Hemingway bike still be the bike if you bought another today. Hey Jackie! Well a couple things - 1. Congrats on getting that transplant! 2. Sounds like it went well if you are getting to go home tomorrow - that is super exciting! 3. yes - we would still by the Himiway if we were looking at ebikes today - the only 2 con's we have found are 1) I'm short and at 5'3" I can touch on tippy toes I wish they made one a little shorter but I wouldn't change to something different just for that and 2) they are heavy but that also helps me feel confident in how sturdy it is. I totally want to get one of those "invisible" selfie sticks. That is sooo awesome the way you can make it disappear. You got to work on the shadow though. Love you guys and your sense of humor.

Awesomeness and yes it’s always the next hill. That’s what makes this Chanel worth watching. Oh and Todd’s perpetual.... well you know. . Shelia is a powerful Machine and Todd, well, your a great editor , producer, and videographer. Shelia adds the facts and Todd lumbers his way through the videos. The perfect match and what a wonderful way to see Going to the Sun road. I’m hooked. Keep it up you two. Love every minute of these powerful videos. How can anyone put a thumbs down to this. Stunning. (In my opinion anyway) PS: anyway to carry another battery? Or are they too heavy and make the bike even less Efficient. PSS: the music once again is fitting for the scenery. Absolutely love the music.

Thanks Doug! We appreciate you doing all the things - another battery is an option we just haven't needed it until this (of course isn't that the way it goes?) Chat with you on Tuesday!! ~ sincerely "The Machine" 🤣
