Let me have a quick look... 6 hours later This is the most and purest fun I had playing in a long time Frame drops and the too sensitive jump button are minor annoyances. The review is spot on and since it's on Game Pass there is no reason to pass on such a fun game

Very happy you guys reviewed this game! I had a lot of fun with it on the demo. I played both Switch and Steam Deck versions, no surprise the Deck runs at 60 fps with graphical enhancements. Ended up getting the Steam version for 28% off on GMG.

You guys hit the nail on the head here. My first thought when I played the demo on steam a while back weirdly wasn't pikmin, but the buzz lightyear game on ps1, then I thought of banjo kazzoie when I got into the level proper.

Top notch review. I'm four hours into the game and have to say, this game has hooked me harder than any game this year so far. I actually like it *more* than Pikmin, which I had trouble sticking with for some reason. I'm currently at the end of the first big level and am 14 pieces of pollen short of 100% completion on it. I've been determined not to move on without those pieces. That said, I'm sorely tempted by the gorgeous visuals and gameplay I know awaits me in future levels, so I might just have to come back later for those 14 missing bits. That said, I do love that the game allowed me to upgrade my bubble power without finding every last piece of pollen. Things lke that and the traversal shortcuts really show how much thought and planning went into this game. I'm deeply, madly, desperately in love. Send help.

Finished this when it was on Gamepass and friggin loved every second. Just ordered the Switch version through Super Rare and I'm hoping it holds up. Gonna be a blast playing it on handheld. Can't wait to see what the team does next. I'd be all for them doing a sequel.

My main critique after playing the demo was focused on the jump speed, i had trouble pressing the button for bubble float quickly enough, which led me to not reach the intended plattform. A minor gripe, and i will most likely adjust after a while. I noticed som frame drops a few times, but it didnt really affect the gameplay. I did love the art style and especially the sense of height, and the gameplay was fun

Absolutely loved the demo (thanks Glen for mentioning it in your "out this week" series!). Although it ran decently on Switch it was just that bit too low res for me in handheld. In the end bought it on PS5 for the higher res & 60fps. 100% a hidden gem. This is the first game in a long time I felt transported back to being a kid in the late 90s with its platformer exploration. Perfect cosy game. Great review Mark 👍

I loved, loved, _loved_ this game. Bought it on PC the moment it came out after trying the demo a few months earlier and I couldn't stop playing until I 100%ed it. While it's true that there's obviously some inspiration from Pikmin I think the level design takes a lot from 3D Super Mario games in the way you can always see something in the distance that attracts your sight and moving onto new areas so you can see previous ones from different angles you might see an item or secret you missed. Exploration is encouraged and that makes it immensely fun.

'Feudal Alloy' don't know much about it yet but looks like a great concept and a bit of a laugh! Gameplay actually looks smooth and interesting from the trailer. Will have a closer look once it's downloaded!

Absolutely loving this one. I would mention that as far as I can tell, the progress in the demo is not transferred to the main game. I could be missing something though. All of this to say, if you start the demo and are enjoying it, you may want to go ahead and buy the full game before sinking too much time into the first mission, since you’ll have to do it all over again. To be honest though, it’s so much fun, I don’t mind.

Nice review! And I like the comparison to entering a playground for the first time. I did love my time with Tinykin. It is high in my top 5 for 2022 atm.

Even if it's pikmin like, we loved pikmin. It stands to reason, we would probably love this as well. I particularly love the "straight outta cartoon network" look. And for the switch, it's the perfect amount of visual appeal and fps fluidity.

Tried the demo a few days ago and as you said, it's a pretty lengthy demo. Loved it and bought it with with some spare gold coins and discounted eShop cred. Currently up to the 2nd area that introduces the green ladder-like Tinykin. Thank you for the review.

This was a welcome surprise to find on gamepass! I downloaded it a few days ago and finally gave it a try last night. I stayed up way too late trying to find the last bit of everything on the first level lol. I’m already hooked, and had to watch some videos on it while I’m eagerly awaiting to get home to continue on into level 2! Thanks for the review!

A beautiful cozy platformer sounds amazing. I like that there is still some challenge but a lot of the threat of a gameover is gone without lives and respawning on the ledge

The Tinykin and music are in unison. Very reminiscent of Patapon back on the psp. I love that aspect of the game. Extremely engaging.

Spot on about the jump being too quick. I got hung up for way too long on the opening tutorial trying the bubble jump.

I feel like part of it is that in most games with a double jump/ glide type mechanic, you want to get maximum distance from your first jump before engaging your second one. I find that if I think of it as needing to hit the button twice in quick succession, I have better results.

I played the demo and couldn't remap the jump button from A to B. I felt like this really effected the game because Y activates the soap board and I wanted to be able to hold Y and jump for much smoother movement.

Just use L or R to activate the soap board in the demo ;) Buttons are remapable in full release.

Heard a lot of chatter online about how it was Pikmin-like. While I can see the comparison conceptually, it's completely different gameplay wise. The game looks great but honestly I think some people were put off by the cover art. It's a shame but at a glance it really makes it look much more like it's made solely to be a kid's game.

Yeah leaning more on puzzles vs Pikmin being about lots of boss battles and fending off enemies.. like you are constantly concerned about killing your Pikmin but this game doesn't have that tension at least in the demo

I played through the game on Xbox Series via GamePass so I didn't have any frame rate issues. I spent about 12 hours beating the game and doing some of the side quests. I'm guessing I could put another 5 or so hours into it. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and glad it was on GamePass because it's a game I probably would have missed otherwise. My kids like to play on the go and will be picking it up on Switch. I think $25 is more than fair for a fun, well made game where you'll spend a good bit of time just exploring with a smile on your face.

no man, you don't need to double press the jump button to use the buble. You just need to continue to push the jump button and it will istantelly apear the buble to float

I had the jumping problem on the switch in portable mode where i though it was really dificult to control the jumps but when i tried it on xbox with a controller this wasn’t a problem at all. Strange…

Probably because of the FPS difference. On switch it runs at 30 and Xbox it runs at 60, so the jump probably feels much smoother on Xbox.
