I think it uses sythetic micro fibres (shaped like hooks) that hook onto any material, similar to those found on the legs of various insects. It might be electrically changed to activate the fibres and then turned off to release the material; that still would not explain how it leaves no trace.
@empanada652 жыл бұрын
It’s Teflon which makes it non-stick. I know how it works, but I cant articulate it well. It’s basically a Teflon cloth attached to the front of the machine and the other end attached to some other moving part. This essentially makes a cloth loop. Inside this loop is a sheet of some hard material. When retracted, the end of the sheet and the end of the cloth attached the frontier the machine are both in the same place. When the sheet is pushed forward, however, the cloth stays in place since it is not attached to it. This forces the cloth under the sheet to come around the leading edge and come up on top as it moves forward in the same way the best on a treadmill goes from under to on top. The cloth on top of the sheet, by nature doesn’t move relative to the machine. So, they way I imagine this works is that as the sheet moves forward and hits the ketchup, the Teflon cloth comes from under the sheet and essentially lifts the ketchup off the surface and onto itself, and since it’s moving forward, it happens in one swift motion. The machine is not sliding underneath it so much as it is picking the ketchup up as it moves forward and placing itself underneath it. When it retracts, the process reverses and the sheet goes back, the cloth goes under the sheet and in the process pulls itself out from under the ketchup and “places” it back on the table. The lack of significant residue, significant being the keyword, is due to the Teflon on the cloth. I know it’s not a super intuitive explanation but I hoped that helped you understand at least a little better. I just know it’s not electrically actuated artificial insect foot hooks.

I don’t understand how this works. Like that teflon plate looks relatively thick and doesn’t seem to be incredibly stiff or fast moving. Which would be the three ways i would assume how this would work. Like how is it getting under all of the ketchup without smearing it in layers? How is the ketchup sticking to the plate when upside down then magically released with like zero adhesion when the plate retracts. This like blows my mind how this exists.
