Thanks for the great video. I have a question about the airbag connector. I was told by a mechanic that if i disconnected the airbag connection that the airbag light would permanently light up on the drivers console and the passenger air bag would not work any more. I thought this was a bit rediculious. However, you have done the install. How did the airbag wiring workout for you? I hope you have been having great adventures.

If you wait 30 minutes after turning off the vehicle you shouldn't have any issues. Best practice is to disconnect the negative battery cable to the starter battery before starting the job. Hope this helps. Happy travels

It looks like you have a BMW R1200 GS or GSA. I been considering a spriter to adventure van conversion so that I can take my motorcycle with me on adventures. I don't want to eat up internal space by hauling it inside, but I don't want to be pulling a giant cargo trailer either. If so, could you do a video on how you transport your bike. It would help me conceptualize how I can get Terra, my motorcycle with me. Thanks!

Thank you for the suggestion! It's a great idea for a video. This Winter my bike is in a small enclosed trailer we're towing to make it easier to spend time skiing before heading South for some riding time. I hope I'll get the chance to fabricate more hitch mounts in the future - giving me another how to video opportunity. 👍

Can you show or explain how the seat belt works after you've installed the swivel. Does the male and female ends stay stationary when the seat is swiveled or does one piece turn with the seat? I am having a hard time envisioning how it is possible to turn the seat without the seat belt restricting the movement.

In the video you can see how the seat belt gets re-located. The tab I refer to in the video is stationary on the bottom portion of the swivel base. The buckle (Female) itself stays with the seat when rotated and the belt (male) remains stationary. You cannot swivel the seat when the seat belt is buckled up. The seat is required to be used in the forward facing position while the vehicle is in motion per road safety guidelines. Does this help/answer your question?

Hello. Great video. Our swivel seat base just arrived and the directions are calling for an E14 (13 mm) Torx socket. We cannot find this size socket anywhere. Is that the size you used to remove the star shaped bolt? We had no problem finding the T50 drill bit.

Yes we use the E14 socket to remove sprinter seats. They are not common in most sets. You can find them at a local automotive tool supplier.

Hello Kenneth, no I do not manufacture the bases. I purchased them through sprinterstore.com and they are made by sport craft. I do not know if they make them for the older vans. You might have luck at an RV wrecker. Hope this helps. Happy travels 👍

We got the swivels from sprinterstore.com They are the sportcraft swivels which most sites sell. There driver's and passenger one. The drivers swivel comes with the part to lower the park brake. Hope this helps. Happy travels 👍
