Holy shit! Prevail is a BEAST. He rides the beat, he's probably drawing from writtens to a certain extent, but he's apparently remembering them and applying them on the fly with the beat he's given. This is why Five Fingers is such a great test of a rappers ability to freestyle well. I thought Brother Ali's was the best, and it really is great, but man oh man this one though... that shit is impressive. I just wanted to see the look on Sway's face from time to time while he was lighting the fire!

If you were familiar with swollen members you would recognize that not one line of the lyrics used here were from any written material , I know all their songs, underground feat's, unreleased joints and seen him freestyle live several times. this is the only actual freestyle I've seen on the Sway show. like Scribble Jam, pre KotD/Grindtime etc freestyle. All the old heads in Vancouver used to speak tales about Prev being a machine. Even some of the best never got spotted emcees that I used to kick it with would talk him up. Local legend. Both of em. #604 #realhiphop #stepyagameup. So refreshing to see. I love seeing dope prewrittens come up on these five fingers sessions. This is years later, but still the best five fingers of death performance I've seen. I've been lucky enough to see swollen live multiple times and hang out with them afterwords. Prevail and rib are consummate gentleman and hosts, and I was blessed to witness a 180ish base freestyle from prevail. I will always love mad child. But prevail is light-years beyond in perspective and dignity.
