They charged my mom in law with a felony for working the counter at an arcade that was occasionally paying winners out in cash when one of the machines would run out of gift cards. They were just doing what the boss told them to. The state never went after the owners who continue to "break the law" but the state continues to go after the poor employees who can't afford legal representation. Her public defender told her to plead guilty and take a plea, or she'd go to prison. Again, for working the counter at an arcade.

My god, the US "justice" system is a depressing joke.
@TiffWaffles5 ай бұрын
This is the justice system in many countries, including my own country. People in abusive relationships are expected to stay in the same house as their abuser if they want to fight for the house/money for the house because if they abandon their house, the abuser can take that and other assets. Typically where I am, you file for divorce and then you leave the marital property. It's a bit dangerous all things considering. If your partner is an abuser and they find out you are leaving them and are served divorce papers WHILE YOU ARE AT THE HOME, that can be absolutely deadly.
@sarasynfox5 ай бұрын
I'm betting this is due to his military care plan. If she's gone and he has no one to care for their child, he can be discharged from the military. Often this is a general discharge under honorable circumstances, which means he gets very little access to any benefits such as the GI bill when he gets out. There's a HUGE incentive for military couples to stay together if they have a child or until his separation date from the military.

I couldn’t imagine the anxiety of being sure someone is trying to poison you yet you don’t quite have damning proof. My anxiety brain would go INSANE, props to him for being level headed enough to get proper proof and not second guess himself.

This just pisses me off. People get actual time for having a little bit of weed and this B tried to kill her husband and got nothing. She’s disgusting and so are the people who gave her probation.

Glad you told me about this channel.. again love everything about you. I'm not on Instagram nor Twitter but I wish I could go on Instagram just to see your content there but I will settle for both KZbin channels. I'm all about crime stories so I went ahead and subscribed as soon as I heard about this channel. Anyway your work is amazing!

Hear me out: he is probably safer living with her now because if he gets A PAPER CUT everyone will be like “you sure your wife isn’t coming after you again? She could’ve planted that extra sharp paper. Maybe talk to the cops JUST IN CASE.”
@ZijnShayatanica5 ай бұрын
"Extra sharp paper" 😂🤣😂🤣 Honestly, I worry she'd just get smarter... Find chemicals or medications that would result in a death that looks more like natural causes. Find something rare that isn't commonly tested for. There's no being safe under the roof of someone who's tried it once.

It’s the way Melody was constantly looking around like she was seconds away from getting caught. Also, Robby was so smart until he decided he wanted to stay in the house with her and keep their child in that environment even after catching her trying to poison him. Like if she can do that to you what’s stopping her from doing it to y’all’s child?
@Silivrenwolfie5 ай бұрын
Uh...I certainly did not expect that. Nor did I expect the husband to still live with the wife. WTF? There's literal proof she was trying to kill him and she gets out free?!! TF?! Mind is blown.

On the note of the smoke detector cameras. For this very reason I'd check your smoke detectors when renting an apartment, airbnb, hotel, etc. For the reason of it being an easy to hide camera. Stay safe out there!!

You’re giving him too much credit. He stayed with her. Didn’t want her to go to prison, even though he went through the effort of filming and reporting her. He doesn’t seem to care enough about their kid, the kid could’ve gotten caught in the crossfire.

The only thing I can think of is that he doesn't feel like he can take care of their child alone. If she's in jail, they can't coparent. He probably thinks 'she only tried to hurt ME, she'd never do anything to our child'
