Isn’t Yui somewhat a ‘bottom-up’ AI, when she first appeared in season one, she acted and behaved like a child despite all the information she held about the world she lived in, which was obviously not remembered. Even though she doesn’t necessarily age, isn’t she learning about humans and becoming more like one, in almost the same way as the fluctlights in Underworld? I hope I sound like I know what I’m talking about xD

That's an understandable mistake if you are only following the anime. Yui only imitates human behavior, she does what she believes is the most appropriate. It's mentioned quite a lot of times how Yui's behavior consists of a lot of obvious hints of "computer processing", as she listens to the input and suddenly emotes after processing that input etc, unlike us humans who emote continously all the time for example. Basically, Yui is running on programmed algorithms.

Yes, I'm action lover but that's not the only reason I watch SAO so I do enjoy epic moments. Lizabeth's speech in this episode was literally undescribable and was Indeed, powerful. I think they nicely adapted stuff in this episode. And when they played the ending song that moment was so epic. Good to see some old pals having some screen time. Keep up the good work. Also, the way you explained that the reality and Virtual Reality are dependent on experience and how character data is not more important than the experience and how SAO players know it more than anyone. I loved that explanation.

@AskGamerturk In Lisbeth's speech , she brings up that many of the SAO survivors were made to do once of month consoling, take medication, and are on a watch list as possible criminals. Is there anything else I'm missing, are even Asuna and Kirito on that list, who are the last two to not only talk to Kayaba but Kirito cleared the game, isn't it enough to show he won't be a criminal in the future? Rath has Kirito working for them and what they made is basically being used as a war game.

I don’t care about what others think. Liz’s speech was absolutely amazing. I literally cried listening to her. I’m so happy the anime is doing a pretty good job in adapting the most important parts, while only taking out some minor stuff, which we can to a certain degree receive from you. The problem is that i simply can’t start reading the novel midway. I always feel like I’m missing something. So for me it’s either reading from the very beginning or never read it. I can’t just jump into the middle of the novel and continue reading, where the anime ended.

Well, you can always just jump into V17 from the beginning. With Episode 12, we won't even reach the halfway point of the book, and I personally expect them to change the portrayal of some stuff (certain scenes will be pushed to after the break to end on their desired cliffhanger), so you wouldn't have too much redundancy when you simply begin from the start of V17.

Yeah the FLA rate adaption did frustrate me since it didn’t make sense for the chronology. Like if Critter decreased it in 2 seconds then much more time would’ve passed in Underworld. It was really the only disappointing part of the episode for me.

Heck I found Liz's speech to one (if not) my favorite part of the whole series next Klein all the way back in Aincrad episode 3, telling Kirito to not give (or die), to live and see this hell of a game through. Her artifical self wasn't even fully completed because Kirito defeated floor 100 boss (An incarnation of radius if I remember correctly) thus stoping the memory stealing thing that Shigemura Tetsuhiro was doing. So how come she be a navigation pixie in ALO? Also is this going to change future events that is about happen in the anime from the light novels?

I haven’t read the novel but my guess is that they somehow retrieved her data afterwards. At the end of Ordinal scale I believe Kikkouka offered Yuuna’s father to work for them. I guess they somehow managed to retrieve some of her data.

The confusing bit is how many different Yuuna's there are. To be descriptive, we have 4 different spellings we use on Wikia, but since we haven't properly gone into the matter yet, none of that is properly implemented on the Wiki yet. Yuuna = Shigemura Yuuna, the real person Yuna = Shigemura Yuuna's SAO Avatar White Yuuna = Shigemura Yuuna's digital echo created via the memories of SAO Players YUNA = Idol Songstress AI Program Yuuna and Yuna are obviously dead. White Yuuna was built up to a certain state before the brain scan program had been stopped. She was not really "deleted" and is kinda stored in the old SAO servers. YUNA has never stopped existing. She is merely a program based on the real Yuuna and subsequently White Yuuna. White Yuuna and YUNA's stories continue in Cordial Chords which brings us to where we are now.

​@@YoSora1313 Turns out she didnt exactly :/ All that aside, the explanation is not really exact and gets quite convoluted. Remember the Murder Mystery Episodes? At the end, Griselda's Ghost had appeared to show her gratitude? Or if you know about the Day Before sidestory? Any of those two would make it a whole lot easier. There are times when Cardinal, NerveGear, Sword Art Online, however you wanna put it, saves certain characteristics, memories, traits onto nearby objects that causes "VR Ghosts" to come into existence at varying degrees of consciousness. Similarly, at the end of Cordial Chords, Nautilus uses the candies that Yuna always carried around to tend to YUNA and the candies start glowing, producing a visage of Yuna herself. And then that specific copy of YUNA and Yuna kinda fuse together and stuff etc.

Hopeful Chant and Cordial Chords are not officially translated to English. They are Japanese exclusive bonus side stories, the former given out for the Japanese theatrical release of OS and the latter for OS Limited Edition BD release iirc. However, as SAO Wikia, we had the opportunity to grab one of each and have translated them. You can find full fan translations on Dreadful Decoding.

@AskGamerturk I started reading the LNs about a month back and have been slowly progressing and have just finish 7 volumes so far. I had a question with regards to the seed conversion feature. From what I remember, in the Phantom Bullet arc when you convert accounts it was explained that things like stats, skills, and name could be kept. Any items such as equipment and money were unable to be kept. Is there something in the LN that explains how the Americans are able to go into the underworld with armor and weapons? The same question comes up with regards to the ALO players. Shouldn't they only be able to start without any equipment?

As mentioned in the video, Americans are not converting at all. They are simply logging in as default created accounts, under the Dark Knight race. That's the reason why Japanese players converting have a major advantage with all their high level accounts and equipment. Americans have base armor of the Dark Knights.

How is it that ALO players will be able to use all their equipment if Kirito couldn't bring his gear from ALO to GGO? Is it because the Underworld and ALO are considered closed to the same type of fantasy style of games?

Eiji and YUNA did not exist in the Alicization Light Novels, however it's wrong if you say "never existed in the LNs". They started off as Anime Original, however, they were retconned into the Light Novel continuity with Hopeful Chant and Cordial Chords, and have more roles to play in the future.

She cannot grant "more HP" per se if that is what you are asking. She cannot even change Object and System Control Authorities as far as we know, Knights still have to manually grind levels, that's why Bercouli (among other Knights) are gradually sent out to take out the Guardian NMs, out to the Dark Territory to kill Dark Territory scouting parties etc. "Bercouli banged Quinella" is just a meme inside the community, so chances are, those other reviewers who know nothing about the series took the meme and ran with it. It is never explicitly stated or even implied that Bercouli had a sexual relationship with Quinella. The only mention that comes close states the exact opposite actually: Bercouli did not have a relationship with Fanatio before Quinella's demise because he was scared for the future of their child under the circumstances he/she would be born in, as well as the obvious likelihood that they would simply be put into maintenance to remove those feelings as much as possible due to being a detriment to their abilities.

Bercouli does not hold any grudge over Quinella and doesn't mind at all as to what she is doing to him. Of course, he doesn't have any knowledge of the Sword Golem experiment, which he definitely would have contested otherwise. Nope, this is definitely after she "deleted her emotions". As I mentioned during the Human Realm arc, "deleting emotions" is not all that simple and Quinella obviously did not do a good job at it in the first place as well, but thats another topic.

Well, let me tell you; - he made SAO into a death game for two years while creating a virtual world seed where thousands of people died, - his work was copied or stolen by Sugou to make sick and cruel mind control experiments on three hundert people, including poor Asuna in ALO, - two of three remaining members of Laughing Coffin (and the brother of one member) created Death Gun to kill more people in GGO, - people from Rath noticed his work and created Fluchtlichts (souls of A.I.s which I have no idea how it just doesn't make sense for me) to turn them into Terminator like robots for future wars and - Gabriel (soul obsesses paychopath) and the USA military notices Rath's work and decided to steahl an A.I. to create a weapon for future wars as well. I don't know what's gonna happened in UR, but we wouldn't have this show that we all know and... know.

Copying Fluctlights is possible. They even copied Higa's Fluctlight, and Quinella copied hers onto Lyserith. The problem is, the moment the copy realizes it is not the origin, it collapses. Also, Zuberg's Fluctlight is long deleted already, no way to copy at this point.

Im glad this episode satisfied light novel readers but... this episode killed me. Mainly the last few minutes, call me a hater if u want but this is my interpretation of what I just witnessed: Liz: I need all of you to help me and my crew fight the enemies in the underworld for an AI- I MEAN A PERSON that you don't even know. Oh yeah, if you die, you'll lose everything on your account that you probably spent 1000+ hours to develop. Did I forget to mention that you'll feel pain probably even worse than any pain IRL? Welp now you know :3 Players: HELL NO, I PLAY THE SAO SURVIVOR CARD! THIS IS COMPLETE DISCRIMINATION!! Liz: Your the one to talk.. Players: WE AINT HELPING YOU Liz: *Cries like an annoying bitch* How bout now? Players: Sign us up! Although I enjoyed alicization a lot, this episode was complete BS to me. The fact that players from the U.S are coming into the underworld really ruined this arc for me. I was barely ok with sinon and leafa coming in, but this is too much. Bottom-line is, I didn't want this much involvement to happen in the War of Underworld. This might as well be WW3, seriously tho, this bold well with me, but 'll have to deal with it. To clarify, it's not like all the players are going to participate. I don't want to say too much because it would be spoilers, but barely half of the people who were at the conference, if not less, actually joining up. And to add, the likes of Sakuya, Alicia Rue and Eugene were already on board, they just needed a proper reasoning to officially join up, that's why Sakuya had stood forward to push Liz for an explanation, and obviously, race leaders have a lot of close followers that they bring with them. Add the people who are just in it for games, to see the future of FullDive etc, and the likes of Sleeping Knights, close friends of the group so to say, were also among those joining. It's very likely that the dickheads who were yelling at Liz didn't join up anyways. Statistically speaking, the people who were at the meeting, were the ones who were already considering it. They just needed to hear a reasoning that resonated with them, and those who didn't, simply didn't join. As for the ignorant bit, I don't think "not liking where the story is going" makes you one of those. That is your personal opinion. My comment on that was for the people who dont get the meaning of "experience" and act like "virtual" is "not real" which simply isn't true. Hope that clarifies what I mean, and also clarifies the stance of the audience inside the meeting dome. That's all I can say without going into further contextual spoilers.

@@Gamerturk Yeah, I can see that I've exaggerated the whole thing too far, but Its still fun to joke around about it. However, my opinion remains the same, I still feel uncomfortable with the amount of outside involvement being instigated into this war even if its only a few ALO players, etc. I only speak these terms because I enjoyed how UNIQUE the whole arc of alicization has been. Im not trying to say that the involvement of the alo and u.s players isn't UNIQUE, but I would of preferred just the residents of the underworld only, with the exception of sinon, asuna, and leafa. It almost became an entirely different show to me, but at the same time kept the SAO elements to it. Liz's speech did leave somewhat of an impact on me despite my opinions on the matter. Now that I think about, is this episode the reason why people claim that alicization is the mix of everything from SAO I and SAO II (if you know what I mean)? Thx for that clarification btw :3 I won't let this episode change my overall opinion of alicization, and I look forward to the last Cours of this massive arc, after the break!

The people who watch my Explained videos, that's 4-8k a week. In the best weeks, only half of those are actually my subscribers, watching my content because they are expecting it. The other half in best cases, or 80% in worst cases, are people who stumble upon my channel through various means. That 50% who does come to my channel for the information, already know Foxen is shit. The other 50%, they don't. And most of them actually find me through Foxen's videos. That is why I mention it in my intro section, that according to my analytics, the subscribers that are watching my videos every week, skip directly over to the Detailed summary anyways, because they already know things I am mentioning in the intro, they have been listening to the same intro since 2 years ago (not exactly sure when I wrote the intro but I feel like I started it back during AGGO somewhere towards the last episodes). That mention of Foxen, are intended for people finding me from his videos (I can also see how many people arrive from his videos and it is a significant portion of the non-subscribers), so they can know he is not to be trusted, despite acting like a trusted source.
