It's already been stated that this follows the anime timeline up until the very moment the war of the underworld begins, after which it'll go a completely different route - that and there's this new red haired girl, but most importantly of all - it's the game universe, so things will be wildly different. That said though... HOW GORGEOUS IS SINON??? Definitely going to main her later on especially for multiplayer :D

Sinc when was it confirmed this was the last game?? Every arc for the anime has at least one game representing it and since SAO will be adapting the Unital Ring arc (which actually IS the final arc) there’s definitely gonna be a game representing it. SAO Progressive (the new movie coming out sometime this year) MIGHT get a game but it’s unlikely that it’s getting a game since Ordinal Scale didn’t. So since the anime is getting at least one new season and each arc has a game to coincide with it why would this be the final game?

It’s not nearly as glitchy as past games, the gameplay is very solid and actually quite enjoyable but the frame rate and loading is quite bad

DigimonVids yeah but again that mostly a issue on consoles it’s not 100% the games fault the game was made in 2020 bad the consoles aren’t really up to date but the next gen will play this game at a better FPS (the looks like it runs at about 30-40 FPS on average)

Not really, the last game was released in February 2018. For the most part they try to release one game a year, but this game had a 3 year development cycle. They also release dlc to keep the games up and expand the story. This game is supposed to be the end of the SAO gameverse.

@@girvans.2293 Unital Ring isn't even finish yet. It will probably be anywhere between 2-4 years before Unital Ring gets it's ending. As far as a game adapting it producer Futami said that game would take longer than the 3 year development cycle that Alicization Lycoris took to make. He then said please have mercy. So I think it's possible we might get a Unital Ring game, but not for at least 5 years and by that time most people probably would have forgotten the events of the gameverse. So it would probably have the gameverse characters, but be it's own standalone adventure similar to how AW vs SAO had gameverse characters, but isn't cannon in the gameverse.

To those of u who're getting the game on PS4, u can only preorder the physical version of the game at your local retailer. There's not going to be a digital preorder. HOWEVER, when the game launches and u buy the digital version within the first month of release you will still receive the preorder bonuses.
