Even though everyone here seems to be disappointed in Aniplex, I think I speak for my fellow Brits when I say that what you have there is a great boxset. All we have is just blurays, nothing compared to the nice box you have for the US release. I am truely jealous.

This is 2 years late, true we may have the fancy boxsets, but we don't have a choice to a cheap alternative. I don't know about you but i'd rather pay 20 bucks for just the blu ray in a case than 90+ bucks for something i have no use for.

Hey, just wanted to update you. I asked a guy on reddit who bought the box set. He informed me that it is indeed region free, and that a German user had bought it and tested it on his equiptment, and it worked! Seems I'll be picking it up very soon then.

Hey E2master, Thanks for watching! Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any indication of what region(s) the discs are anywhere on the package or the discs themselves. According to the listing on blu-ray.com, regions B & C are untested, but if we discover any info we will gladly let you know.

I honestly hope with Sao 2 theyll re release the first season bundled, as long as it's cheaper than 80$ im game and that's pushing it for 25 episodes,even if they did something like the SAvE versions funimation does that would be amazing, really hoping they don't jack up prices for Sao 2 as well..

rightstuf or aniplex's website are the main distributors of it I believe. But on the painful side they're 90$ each (and there are 4 sets). The normal DVD sets are 40$ each. Man I wish Aniplex's pricing would go down but that'll proabably never happen. It's times like this where I wish I could get full times hours at my job >_

Does anybody know if these sets still have the problem with the glue on the back of the boxes or did Aniplex fix the problem?

Hey Austin Eparvier, To our knowledge, Aniplex still uses adhesive on the backs of the boxes (you can see the other three sets we unboxed) but the adhesive seemed to be less of a problem with each one. From talking with a representative at Aniplex, we were told they would keep the adhesive issue in mind for future productions of the sets. We can't confirm that things were changed, but we certainly hope so given how destructive the one they originally used was.

Hey Cardshark45, The Blu-ray quality looks very good, but the DVD's do as well. If you are not that interested in the paper goods and artbox for each volume, those that pick up the DVD sets should hopefully be happy with them, since they are pretty solid as well (of course in our opinion).

ah sword art online now I like this show and while I was watching it I loved it well until the second season I do not think it is worth the $350 summthin dollars for the full series. I mean aniplex come on! Fate/Zero is less than this series and that is mile stones better but I guess the fans will buy it if they have the money… But really is it too much to ask for just 2 box sets with a lower price

Personnally i think aniplex of America has SHIT prices i mean 360.00 for a 25 episode series really! Don't get me wrong I LOVE Sao but for this price not in a million years!

Anime DVD's are always so much more pricey. Probably is that its a lot more of a niche/smaller market, so they have to compensate by making them pricey. I'd buy it if it was more reasonably priced.

Nice thorough unboxing, do you happen to know if this is region free (or atleast region A and B)? I plan on buying it, but it would be useless if I couldn't play it on a region B player. The Bake/Nisemonogatari set is very similar and by the same publisher, and those were region free, so I thought that this set might also be.

The blu ray set isn't really that overpriced considering the bonuses. I do wish there was a barebones release though.
