For anyone who doesn't have the legendary trinket that stops healing debuff. I gave the papal guard the tarrot that gives a 25% shield at the start of the fight, which along with his own shield is enough to let him live through the first two attacks easily on stage 7 (havent tried stage 8 yet, but given how easily I cleared 7 with this strat I don't think 8 will be an issue only he gets one shot). After that he's not really at risk of dying as he doesnt get one shot, and angel can remove the debuff and heal him before he's hit again, just need to survive the first two hits really. Another alternative is the trinket is limited use that removes a debuff if you have it, but thats also a legendary but might be more common.

Thanks to this, I was able to actually get through not just this stage, but Stage 9 as well. It was a bit more difficult, but I was able to work out a strategy.

3:42 My seeker doesnt have the dmg mitigation passive so instead i move her where she can be in range of angels healing to survive the cross aoe. Thanks to what i did the summon stone in the right breaks too either way it works like a charm. Sankyu ❤

Oh i was already built the hammer before getting the axe, also the hammer 3 tiles knockback is very useful for tower.

Is Invulnerable good on Papal guard? I thought Flagellant was BIS on him, as it reduces damage by 24% after a few turns, and allows to spam Defensive Stance every turn thanks to extra energy regen. Or is Invulnerable used in some other stages, where you can't survive without it?

hmm i guess Penance is good for long fight like this one, it need to get hits 3 times for maximum dmg reduction. Invulnerable only cost 1 energy for a whooping 40% dmg reduction, immune disrupt for 3 turns. 5 turns cd can be mitigated by tp flag skill.

@@lyhonlam1 True, but after doing this stage using your strategy without taking any of the rank 7 talents, I found that neither of them was actually necessary, as PG can already tank the boss without using either talent, so extra damage reduction seems unnecessary there. But I can see the appeal in some of the more difficult stages to just press Invulnerable when you expect the main bulk of damage to come through, as 3 turns is quite a lot. On the other hand, having access to extra energy income is also very useful, as we can stack multiple shields this way. But it's a good point that flag reduces cd, and there are some other effects that also reduce cd, so it might be possible to have 100% upkeep on Invulnerable.

@@Derael actually dark light ice priest tanks more reliable imo, put ice shield and nrg recovery on him and let him alone forever, his 2k+ shield never breaks, he always has 2 instances of it layered and never chips away, this guy is insanity, and when you feel like it you can cast your ice aoe on the boss

The units with voltage shock debuff explode cross shape with them at center, just don't stand in the same line with them.

cooling powder is super important for unit tanking in the back, if not using any item for immunity to debuff heal you need 1 more turn to cleanse and this strat won't be viable. it is surely viable at stage lv 50, for 55 i don't know. anyone willing to try and give me some advice? thanks.

Its viable, my papal guard barely getting healed in the fight. Just keep the shield up and equip Moon or Hermit tarot. Also Spring Pill trinket can dispel the debuff.
