Swordfish Room Completely Intended Solution (I promise) - Animal Well

I swear this is how the puzzle was meant to be done!
(Solution spoilers below for a bunny)
Nah apparently you're supposed to frisbee at the apex of your jump and you'll be able to get thru.
THIS WORKS TOO THOUGH IF you are stubborn as hell.
1. Basically use the wheel to the gap.
2. Press Jump and Item Menu (square and triangle) at the same time.
3. Make sure your blob doesn't go past the inner circle of the wheel. Too high, and you can't land on the bubble. If you don't move AT ALL, then no jump happened. Just try again.
4. If you jumped, then switch to bubble wand, and prepare to immediately move forward and spam bubble as you exit the menu.
5. You should be able to land on at least one of the bubbles.
6. For the top part, do the same thing, but go all the way to the right.
7. Instead of having the platform available, you can either R1 5 times quickly, or even item menu to the wheel, OR you can spam more bubbles and kinda build a safety net of bubbles to land on for a moment
8. Jump as far as you can in and wheel at the last moment before hitting the spikes.
9. Now it gets really janky.
10. Holding forward, press jump and use item (x and square) at the SAME TIME as quick as you can to try to get thru the place you shouldn't be wheeled in.
11. If you take damage, try to wheel back up immediately and keep going.

This is really impressive and at the same time I'm glad I just used the frisbee. Landing a couple of near-frame-perfect frisbee jump-throws in a row was a pain, but this method looks way more difficult to execute lol

@@rewarg (what I assume is) the intended solution involves throwing a frisbee in the same direction you jump. If you're for example running left and jump left and throw the frisbee left at a certain point in the jump, you'll immediately land on the frisbee. Doing that a few times will also get you to the top.

At first I also wanted to use the wheel, and I even managed to complete the second row with some junk solution, but after seeing the third row (why would I research the level before trying, lol), I realised, that it was designed for frisbee.

I've done it with the wheel only. If you turn it off with a jump and turn it on when close to spikes - it will blast you up. Than, you can turn the wheel off with a jump again, to reach the platform. Try it out, it is hard but doable.

This is literally how I did it lol, I thought it was the intended way. It was easier for me tho, for one you can switch to bubble wand while standing in the wheel because you have a frame or two after you switch where you can bubble and jump. And then in the top section I just spam clicked the wheel button and it kept contracting into a smaller form without completely going away letting me through the area

The way I did involves a pretty janky technique where you jump twice inside the wheel, once to kick off and then once on the sides of it while still in the air, and the second time you have to immediately deactivate the wheel to get the momentum from the jump to make it to the next level. It took me a while to get down since it’s hard to consistently manage the double jump and even harder to manage to cancel at the right moment because there’s so little space between you and the ceiling of the wheel during the second jump.

I tried something similar at first, but I could never get the wheel up to the next level successfully. Tried a bunch of different double jump methods like trying to jump off the sides to get up there. I think I got a 4x jump once, but couldn't do any of it consistently. Cool that you made it work

That's kind of what I did. It was more like I reversed direction and used me running up the other side of the wheel as upward momentum... It felt like it only worked randomly. It sucked.

@@Banananakiyeah that’s what I did. If you just mash jump with enough wiggling of your direction you can almost jump 3-4 times in the air, and it becomes much easier against a wall. So I did the first two rows entirely inside the wheel, and got up to the third row by bouncing against the edge of the spike platform then closing + opening the wheel super fast to squeeze into the gap. Then just close + open across to the left like the video

@@georgesully5733 I couldn't manage to get a worthwhile enough multi-jump to make it happen, so I found a different way, like in the video lol. Was way more consistent for me. Glad you made it work out, maybe easier to spam both directions on kb vs analog/dpad on controller?

I mean, this is how I did it in my first playthrough. The only difference is I didn’t use the bubble wand but instead abused the janky hitbox of summoning the wheel on the floor spikes to fling myself into the air and then jump and put away the wheel at the same time for a super jank double jump.

I am glad I am not the only crazy one =D I stumbled on a video of someone using a frisbee and I'm like "yeah that's probably the intended way" but the vines shut that idea down. I thought there's no way without the wheel right? Run at a wall long enough and eventually you might run through it.

I couldn't get the wheel technique to work for me, so I rode the frisbee on all 3 levels. For the 2nd level, I rode it til the first wall bounce, jumped, midair inventory screen change to bubble wand, land on a bubble, quickly adjust myself a few times, then frisbee throw from a bubble to the end. Took about 30 minutes of trying.

There are no intended solution for any puzzle in this game, only solutions. If they really wanted to force disc riding, they would have made the gap like 1 block thick because the instant disc ride is a 1 frame trick on the same height anyway. So, this is an equally valid solution. So is pixel perfect bubble jumping.

True. But you can't tell me it's intended to force the wheel through the top, when clearly it doesn't fit, half the time you get physics ejected, other half of the time you take damage, fall, and respawn. I managed to survive and deploy the wheel, and made it through, but the person who created the map had an intended way of solving, because it was designed to be solved. There's absolutely an intended way, doesn't mean it's the only way though.

OK, so. this room (2 rooms) is the TOP LEFT corner of the map. Directly under, there is a set of 3 rooms, with a phone on the right room, then a mostly empty room in the center, then a room on the left with a block that drops using a top from the left entrance. Basically, I recommend having the BB Wand (multiple bubbles wand) and you can frisbee yourself pretty high up in the CENTER room of the 3. Normally, if you drop a bubble here, a swordfish jumps up and pops it, but if you spawn multiple bubbles, you can spam downward and ascend from the left side, into a hole around the center ceiling area. You'll see some moss/vines covering the entrance, so it can be difficult to frisbee directly there, hence recommending the bb wand. To summarize in a less confusing wall of text... Use frisbee in the center room, then spam bubbles so swordfish can't pop them all, then jump towards the vines. There'll be a hallway then this room. (I have a problem overexplaining things, please let me know if I can make it clearer lol)

@@Banananaki that's basically what I've been doing, but the swordfish always foils my plans. I'll have to try spamming hella bubbles next time! I honestly thought people were finding a way up there without the bubble wand

Do you have the upgraded wand though? There's an upgraded version near the fireworks room (up one, left one) that doesn't despawn existing bubbles, so you can safely spam the bubble wand and the swordfish can't pop them all. Start with the frisbee, then switch, jump and hold down, spam a bunch, jump hold down, spam more, then start building a "bubble ladder" up there. There are probably other methods, but this is the method that makes sense for me. Otherwise too much vines. I just tried at max height from the right side, and I couldn't jump high enough w/o bubbles, so not sure if it's possible outside of an extreme jank/glitch situation. (last minute edit, I did actually come from right side and do it spawning one bubble at a time, so it is doable w/o the upgrade)

In the far left room I raised the block up with a slinky and used it to bounce the frisbee pretty high off the left wall so you only need a regular jump to get to the ledge in the middle room with the swordfish.

@@ThMrksman I tried to do it with the regular bubble wand and I’m fairly sure it’s impossible. However, it may be possible with the B.B. Wand since you don’t need to be mid-jump to blow a bubble next to you.
