Congratulations!!! When I am down in the Keys we hold the bill and rip the gills out boat side. Even then the fish will still slash its bill inside the boat. Make sure it’s dead before you let go of the bill. Good job!!!!

A harpoon would have come in handy to land the fish, if they are legal where you are. Bet you’ll remember your gloves for the next swordy :)

I use 65lb hollow for swords and got four 300 yard spools and spliced them together that way when it changes color I know I’m past 900ft (plus wind on) and then Count down from there. We fish our baits at 800-1100ft down even if it’s 2500ft deep.
@CoastalWorldwide1

That’s what we used to do! But we fish on bottom or 100-200ft off. Not too hard to hit bottom and come up 100 cranks or whatever

Sick video as always. I'm not at all trying to be critical just really wanna let you know I have hears you mispronounce the name of your avet reels a couple times now. It's a-vuht not ay-vit. Thought you might wanna know. I work with them here in so cal and have spoken to there corporate purchasing agent several times to get their products in our Melton catalogs. No big deal but I would wanna know if It was me.
