This Match clearly Demonstrated, that Sephiroth fake Defensive isn't helping him. Counters are to Risky, Hyper Armor Predictable, and Priority almost useless. The Big Shield Doesn't Help against a character with Special Cancels either. And the Damage Output from Terry Litterally kills Seph before he can think of using his Winged form. I think it favors Terry, but not as drastic as I make it tho. Like 55 or 60 to 45 or 40. But Terry has the upper hand, and Riddles showed how. Because I don't think, that Vapor played to bad here, so I wouldn't blame the Player instantly.

This was a case of Riddles outplaying the Sephiroth player. Ned's Sephiroth is much better and bested Riddles 's Terry recently in tourney.

It's kind of matchup dependent in this case. Sephiroth is great, but can't necessarily box that well. Terry, on the other hand, doesn't even have to consider what direction he's facing when he's up close.

This match up is definitely sephiroth favor, he walls terry out, bully’s him offstage, has a throw that sends terry at the worst angle for him to get daired. He has the speed to run away with one wing. It is bad if terry gets in but that’s the same for most characters versus him. Edit: even has a brokenly strong counter for edge gaurding Terry’s recovery

@@edwinvega6330 you cannot wall Terry with Sephiroth because Seph's moves are extremely laggy. He isn't Lucina, Cloud, Ike(kind of) or Mythra who can actually spam tilts, jump+ fair and stuff. Sephiroth has to jump bair ans then stops to see whst the opponent does to keep continuing. Terry is so fast that even if Sephiroth does bair to Terry's shield, Terry can approach and punish anyways because Seph ending lag is attrocious. Also, without an out of shield option and being so damn light as a pichu, Sephiroth is in death range when he hits above 55%. Do you really think this match "favors sephiroth?" Lol do I need to mention Sephiroth's tipper and thin hit boxes with the sword? Please. Terry cN just go jab jab pressure and sephiroth is done

From my understanding it’s so he doesn’t live ludicrously long with such a strong pinch mode. The way Sephiroth functions, he wants to keep the opponent at mid-range where they get few chances to strike him, but when he gets overly punished he has the winged form to help him out. Relevant to the video, this is part of why I hate Terry for being an up-close fighter with great frame data & pinch mode while weighing the same as Samus. In fact he can’t even lose Go once he gets it (until death) whereas Sephiroth can lose winged form and not get it back until the next stock.

@@tlk4554 ? Go is literally adding 2 moves. That’s it. Wing provides much more to a character that is mainly disjointed. Wing adds another jump making ledge trapping nearly impossible, and he gets OVERALL stronger. If for some reason terry got that change, I get what you’re saying. But to bitch about go and not wing is silly. Wing is way better than go.

@@tlk4554 Oh please. Sephiroth's winged mode isn't that super great either. He still has to deal with the tipper bullshit and there are times the opponent can be at 160%+ and they are still alive because YOU NEED to carefully space. Sephiroth winged mode can't be used aggressively 100%of the time or you will die. On top of that, he is soooo light that sometimes he either dies before his comeback mechanic or his comeback mechanic activates when he is flying to his guaranteed death. Terry has an INFINITE comeback factor after 100%, and what makes this effective is that in most cases Terry dies well above 150% because of his stupid bowser-like weight so he can keep spaming his stuff while comboing. Joker has Arsene and he has a means to get it faster. Sephiroth mode is just...meh
