if u really want to create turbines with math , go to concepts nrec, all software about turbines , no just drawings artistic like this video, the real thing !

Some unnecessary cuts in the Video, for example the correct positioning of the Blades 37:02, it can be confusing. But anyway.......nice Video. 🙂

Nicely done - now I need to figure out how to sweep an airfoil pattern instead of a flat, thickened surface for the blades.

Your very well on using the software in deed..

I'm glad no real fan blade and fan hub is designed like this :p Would be falling planes from the skies all the time, if that was the case :p Blades use a "dovetail" groove in the hub, due to blade harmonics. No single blade is identical and to let them "sit" in their preffered position when run is critical or tha root would fatigue and snap in the transition to the hub (which looks nothing like this on the inside) where the blades are slid in and kept in place by a lock ring. The hub is more of a disk and the spinner nose is a thin hollow cone with anti-ice passthrough. Besides if you are making a tutorial for a blade you need to make airfoil profiles along the blade and use boundary surface for both blade front and blade back, the leading edge needs to be radiused a little (more so towards the root, and sharper towards the tip) and the trailing edge almost sharp (tiny radius). If anyone wonders, yes I work on real gas turbine engines...

This is a SolidWorks Tutorial. Not a jet engine tutorial. The purpose is to teach how to do curved surfaces in 3d, circular patterns, and other features in SW, not to teach how to build blades and hubs lol. No need for it to be perfectly faithful to the real thing. I found this tutorial very useful for practicing.

You have to turn on 'real view graphic' for that shining surfaces. You can find video here on KZbin.
