it'd be one thing if you were given the option of choosing your motive to not hand him back over but the trooper's reasons are actual legit reasons, it took a long time to track the asshole down in the first place and getting POW's back means letting go of a certified lunatic who will be more then happy to kill a load more families then they get reunited. plus, this is the empire, they're liable to show up to the rendezvous empty handed and steal the general back by shooting.

@@Snowfox572 Not only that, but think about the POWs conditions themselves. Compared to Rakton, who would probably not be tortured at all, the POWs could have tortured and brainwashed into secretly serving the Empire. The Empire is the ones choosing the captives they wish to release. Who says that none of them have alterations done to their mind? Rakton could have set up a contingency designed for this exact moment. The choice shouldn't have been a light side/dark side option. The choices should have been neutral, because on the one hand, you are getting back POWs, but at the same time you are creating a big risk to a war effort. Mind you, if the choices were between execution and simple imprisonment, that would be a different topic all together.

It's actually a real life thing. A captured enemy officer is allowed to keep his personal weapon (usually a handgun), without any ammunition. It's a very old military tradition.

Kuma Bear Yeah, that would be the best choice of all, kill Rakton so he'll never again plague the Republic. That's something that the Jedi don't understand in the "Star Wars" universe, killing a dangerous enemy that's heavily damaged your side when he or she is unarmed isn't evil, it's smart. The Jedi of course all too frequently tend to see things in black and white which is why they pissed off so many people.......

The thing with SWTOR Lightside choices dont always make any sense at all and can be stupid sometimes. Darkside is either badshit insane or generic evil but sometimes the reasonable thing to do. And jedi well they can go kiss a wookie's ass for all i care.

It's actually a common practice regarding captured enemy officers, a very old one at that. The weapon ammunition is confiscated and the weapon unloaded, then returned to the officer. It's courtesy since the sidearm - beyond its practical use - is also a status symbol, a command symbol. Like the sword was. Basically letting Rakton leave with his sidearm is professional courtesy. And a way to let him keep his honor and dignity. Something the Republic likely values.

Having deleted my Trooper at level 45, just not able to take the crap story line any more, I came to watch this and see how it ended up. Holy crap I am glad I deleted and wish I had much erlier. has to be the lamest story out of all the classes(Maybe other than Sage, have not gotten far into that one)!
