Wow. While the voice of Mike Ness sounds the same as it did on their albums a few years later, he looks like a teenager in this. Though he was born in April of 1962 and this is from 1983 so he was still a youngster.

They were never as good once Derek O’Brien left the band…it really changed the whole sound of the band…great fuckin’ drummer.

Yea that’s true. But I don’t think social distortion would have been as successful with Derek on drums. Because the sound of the band changed in subsequent years following this video. I can’t see Derek playing the drums on their self titled or prison bound albums. Those albums were highly successful. Derek and Brent were very punk and the sound was amazing when they played together.
