Fun story, it was Syd warming up before he intended to lay the track down, Gilmour liked the way it sounded, so he recorded it without Syd knowing.

I'm screaming, I met you this way. That visual. He was a genius. Thank you for posting. [ He really uses his chord structure much like VDGG].

interesting connection, i hadnt made that leap before. I suspect hammill was influenced by syd. The way he uses his voice is certainly similar
@laredolenny6822 жыл бұрын
@@ianscarlett6884 That's a good perception on your part. Hamill could have been a register lower. I was actually referring to chord structure itself. There are a lot of half steps in Barrett and VDGG. So, Hamill started out in 1968 I believe. So, yes to influence. There was sooo much happening at that point in time. Syd was his own Genius. Never got to see him. Saw VDGG 2x at two points in history. Very cool.

Jerry Shirley strikes again…on drums! Ala the 1st solo John Entiwhistle record.An angry masterpiece in its own right. Jerry Shirley is/was one of the ‘best’ malleable drummers ever. Took some balls and imagination to slog out the skins during the solo Barrett sessions. I imagine.I wasn’t there.Im only speculating. Nonetheles,Syd was still slogging it out. I’m stoked that he didn’t give up on music yet. A lesser man,like myself,would have packed it in. This rekid stopped me in my tracks after hearing it for the first time in 1992…or so. Arnold Layne had a nasty habit 🐸
