Let's break the MV down a little bit. 1. Nagsimula na naka-belo si Syd tapos TINANGGAL. Hindi siya ang nagtanggal. Hindi siya ang may gusto o may gawa para matanggal ang belo (na sa message obv. na yung purity niya yon) 2. Karatula na "Karinderiang hindi bukas sa lahat ng gustong kumain". Hindi porke meron akong parte ng katawan ko na magagamit mo para maibsan yung nararamdaman mo e gagamitin mo na ako. 3. Wardrobe. Yung suot ni Syd very modern, pero dahil sa touch ng filipiniana sa baro we know na sa Pilipinas ito, lalo na sa environment ng mv. Yung mga lalaki na masasabing "abusers' ay nakatakip ang mukha, means it could be anyone. Walang specific na tao, itsura, ugali. 4. Scene 2 nakahiga na si Syd, again, hindi siya humiga mag isa. Inihiga siya. Hindi siya ang gumalaw para mangyari yon. 5. Bumangon siyang wala sa ayos ang damit, tapos hinubad niya. Umakyat sya sa platform at sumasayaw sa tugtog pero kita sa muka niya ang lungkot. Represents victims that are forced to perform acts dahil marahil sa takot. 6. The scene becomes intense, nagkakaron na ng galit. And she finally stands tall, she stands up for herself. 7. Cut to next scene, wala na sa paligid niya ang "abusers" pero nasa likod at kita and silhouette. This shows that the trauma lingers. It stays with the victim. Followed by dark backdrops with the "abusers" that seem disoriented. 8. The next scenes represent the repetition of abuse. Nasa gitna nanaman siya sumasayaw against her will, wala na sa silhouette ang abusers at nahahawakan nanaman siya. 9. final scene, binalutan siya ng tela na pinagmuka ulit siyang birhen. Pero nandon ang abusers. Hindi na katulad nung unang belo na nakabalot sa kaniya. This is the flimsy effort to try and restore the ruined purity, the ruined trust, the ruined sense of self. 10. Finally, there is NO JUSTICE. She still ends with abusers with her. Walang third party na kumilos para ilayo siya doon. Musicality, beyond awesome. Symbolism, a big slap on the face of everyone turning a blind eye.

i think the song goes beyond sexual harassment and rape. the main theme is actually about VICTIM BLAMING, which is very prevalent in Philippines today. women shall be respected, not harassed, regardless of whatever they wear, whether it be filipiniana or revealing outfits. women are not asking for sex just because they wear 'sexy' clothing. women are not asking for sex just because they drink with you. women are not asking for sex just because they hang out with you. it is rape if there is no consent. I will never get tired of listening to this song and watching this MV. 5 years ago nong unang beses ko tong marinig at mapanood. The melody is haunting. The lyrics, the symbolism, and the actions were all calculated to send a very strong message. Victim blaming is prevalent in our culture. Even when presented with evidence, we still try to justify the actions of the wrongdoers and let the victims suffer from trauma and be forced to act as if nothing happened.
