I think with Tuomas' music and lyrical themes, they might. Jani's lyrics and musical setting are more suited for Finnish lyrics.

I hope that I'm not going to disappoint you, but originally "sydänyö" means "midnight". You don't hear it very often nowadays, so maybe the younger ones understand it more litterally. My english is not so good, but as far as I understand, your translation is very nice overall. BTW. "yösydännä" "in / at the dead of night" (hardly any younger finns speak like "yösydännä...")

A few (really small) errors: "praying" should be "I pray" ("rukoillen" would be "praying" in this context, but it's "rukoilen", right?) "your wings" should be "the wings" Also, it's literally something like "Wishes are forgotten in the night, (and they) cover with a mourning-veil"... Beautiful song :)

Is that the Jani's voice? So I wonder what he is waiting to start playing/singing in a new project!! D:

Well, I was thinking that even though the meaning is the same, "keskiyö" is literally "midnight" while "sydänyö" is more poetic at least in more modern finnish.

Oh, and "Sydänyö" would be more like "Heart of the Night" (not "Midnight", though)

Tuomas Holpainen says he writes songs in english coz Finnish sounds too corny really quickly, but from this Id have to disagree with him. Jani :)
