Great video, guys! As a Campbell River local, it’s really interesting to see the trails ridden at race pace. Totally different line selection than what most of us do on our normal rides! There’s a ton of volunteer time that goes into the trail prep for these races, hope you enjoyed it and we hope to see you back again!

I would say both of you were very consistent in all disciplines of each stage so far . You could almost set your clock by it . Your comfort zone is much larger now . I would say your filming causes you to loose a spot or two but being in the top ten in a stage race as difficult as this is impressive . For Syd coming back from her chronic injury to do something like this shows her tenacity for not giving up . Mackey is just a machine .

I live in South Florida and whenever I speak to people about XC racing down here to those that ride and don’t live in Florida, they look puzzled. Yes, we don’t have 20 minute climbs followed by an uninterrupted 5 minute descent. We are flat with a tonnnn of short punchy climbs which means if you want to go fast, you are pedaling absolutely everywhere. Death by 1000 cuts.

Had to think a bit about why I find your channel so interesting, so here goes! • Places and trails I’ll never see in person • Your race strategy process • How you tackle adversity • You show how tough the sport is both mentally and physically. • Bike parts choices and why • Bike prep • Bike choices • Training • Race etiquette Lots to be learned, and entertaining! Thanks for working so hard!

I would think the punchy climbs mixed with downhills would reward the more technical athlete and the cardio kings would rather just do all the climbing at once? Being fast on the downs you carry more speed into every climb and have time to rest in between climbs.

Just an observation… Bikes overall are to heavy!! I would have liked to see you both on Ht bikes for this stage. Full carbon, no dropper posts, lighter tires ect. 17.5-18.5 pounds without bottles cameras ect, med size. Macky locking the rear wheel to often, more flow. Much love!! ❤
