This tip worked GREAT!! Spent a couple hours yesterday putting a tube in and taking tube out in order to seat one side and still could not get the other side seated with air tank or Co2. Ended up saying screw it and put the tube back in last night. Saw your video and decided to give it a try. Took tube out and seated 1/2 of the unseated side with a tire iron and hit it with my floor pump. Wow! It pumped up to 40 psi and seated in 20 seconds. You are THE MAN!!!!
@74te275 жыл бұрын
What I find easier using floor pump by initially putting tube to seat the tire and then remove the tube while the other side of the tire is seated. Then use the tire level like Macky did. That way you only worry about 1 side to check for leaks. Works for me😀

Way I've always done it, pop both beads on with a tube and open one side to remove the tube and insert tubeless valve and sealant, makes it easier just dealing with one side.

Great info ,worked first time after struggling .No air compressor needed just a simple track pump. I firstly put a tube in and pumped it up to seat both sides , I then let the air out and carefully unseated one side and removed the tube ,I reinserted the tubeless valve then used the tyre lever to carefully seat as much of the unseated side as possible. I then removed the removable valve core and pumped like he'll with the track pump and up she went .

And I thought what are they talking about, not being able to get air in to the tire? Today I was fitting my next tubeless and IT DID NOT WORK! Watched your video, and boom, it was on! Good job!
@RocketMagnetUK4 жыл бұрын
Main issue is a new tyre and the easiest way with a really stubborn seat is to fit an inner tube and pump it up hard. Leave it a bit then release the air (overnight if possible to get it relaxed into shape). Let out the air and release the bead on one side only (Short side if it's an Asymmetric rim) remove the inner tube without breaking the seat on the one side. Then inflate with one side 100% still seated... not once have I ever seen this method fail. Also never add sealant until its seated (always dry seat a new tyre).. then let the air out again then add sealant through the Valve with the core out using a cheap syringe and reinflate. Also a top tip is some rims are shaped so make sure valve seal is the right shape and aligned correctly.
@corsomagenta3 жыл бұрын
this is the correct answer. ALSO, you don't need a tire tool to seat the second bead. You can just do it with your fingers by "crimping" the tire and reaching through the loose sidewall to indirectly push the bead in with the tips of your fingers from the opposite side.
@bryanb69312 жыл бұрын
Thats' the same way i do it, If you have the time to let the tire sit overnight with a tube in it @ max pressure, works every time flawlessly.

Step 1: be Macky level fit Step 2: do bead trick Step 3: pump so hard you are out of breath even though you are Macky level fit 🤣 I'll stick with my compressor. Local trail head has a great air supply. Just saw someone doing tubless in the parking lot last week, said it was easier than pulling out his compressor at home. A good reason to support your local trail society. The bike wash alone is worth my yearly pledge.

THE SECRET is absolutely on the money. Unless your tire beads are somehow already miraculously setting up on the shelf near the outer rim edge, even with a powerful air compressor, they will be leaking air so badly that they will never balloon out and set the bead. I took a plastic bead tool similar to yours and just maneuvered one half of the bead (on one side only) and was able to get my compressor to pop out the tire. This was on a totally dry well used tire with no soapy water and no sealant at all, but yes a large compressor. I took it on and off the rim and it just would not set until I did this trick.

Thanks guys, this is a really helpful video! I recently had a tire that was very hard to get pumped even with a compressor and I had trouble to get it to stay when pulling it up to the rim with a tire lever. So what I ended up doing was to put a tube in first and pump it to a high enough pressure so that it sits evenly on the rim. Then, I lay the wheel on its side, so that the tire doesn't touch the ground ( I set the hub on a roll of tape). Then I deflated it and only took the bead off the rim on one side to remove the tube, put the tubeless valve in and then carefully put the bead back on the rim. After that I was able to inflate it right away. Thought I would share this, was what work out for me in the end on a pretty stubborn tire!

IT WORKS!! In fact the tires were still caked with old sealant so not spotless. I first tried it dry without any sealant because I was skeptical and did not want to waste any Stans in case it did not work. Much to my surprise it worked on both of my wheels. After it seated I put some new sealant through the valve. Thank you!!

I'm putting on my third set of tubless tires. I have a compressor, didn't really have issues with the other two sets of tires. This time around, I just spent an hour trying to get one tire to seat. Watch this video and got it seated in a couple minutes. Thank you!!

Thank you SO much for posting this. I have been watching tubeless tire videos and reading articles for years, and this is the best thing I have found. Worked LIKE A CHARM! I could not get my back tire to seat, despite having a compressor, and this worked. So simple and so effective. Bravo.

My new go to method! Done this 3 times now - can be tricky, but deffs works. I use a REALLY cheap floor pump which barely attaches when I remove valve core and I still get it to seat. I don't add sealent at the same time though. I get it to seat, then i release the pressure and reinsert valve core. Next, I unseat a small gap and pour in sealent. Then reinflate, and the little bit pops back into place. No mess whatsoever

This video legit saved my ass 2 1/2 hours out into the bush today. Took me 45 minutes of screwing around to get both sides seated, but I did it, and it worked.

YES, THEY ARE FINALLY ON! I have never left a comment on YT before, but I really wanted to thank you for this one! I did seat one side of the tire using a tube before applying this technique though - When I tried both sides, one would always pop off the bead while I was seating the other one.
