Im a yank who follows the A league and i have always saw inspiration in the league because of how rapidly growing it is. Just like MLS here in the US and Canada. I hope the A league continues to grow. Both leagues may be disliked by scores of people, but it shows we're doing something right if they dislike the leagues.

The atmosphere at a rugby league game is dead, people sit down and clap. Today I travelled to Gosford to support Sydney FC against Central Coast, the whole time the make shift cove was standing up, chanting, jumping up and down. The atmosphere at an A-league game is on another level to anything you can experience at a rugby league game.

As a New Zealander, we have one team in A-league,, Wellington phoenix. But since we only have one team there is not a massive derby, but currently the FFA have declined wellingtons renewal in the A-league, this has currently brought the whole league as one trying to save Wellington, we have had other teams, ex and current players and lots of others from around New Zealand and Australia tweet the hashtag #savethenix. But football isn't the main sport here in NZ but since all of this is happening more and more people are turning up to home games. If Phoenixs did have to leave the league it would kill football in New Zealand, there is quiet a lot of up coming talent here in little New Zealand and would be a shame if this sort of talent is to go to waste. This would be a very interesting documentary to do and would help rise the problem. #savethenix

As a Seattle Sounders fan, I love the A-League! (I like Adelaide and Melbourne City) It’s a lot like the MLS: young, hated, has some big controversies over the years and attendance issues. However, there’s one thing that can’t be denied: the passion is there! You go to Seattle, and you see tons of people wearing Sounder jerseys, hats, hoodies and scarves! It’s amazing!

I’m sorry mate, even as a person that’s lived in adelaide my whole life, Football in America and Australia will never be big. Before the a league, and before it became corporate, the NPL (National premier league) was the primary comp.every state (excluding NT, and maybe Tasmania) had a team representing large ethnic groups. Here is Adelaide, Adelaide city wore the black and white of Juve as they represented Italy (my family has Italian background). Before the a league, the game had culture, now its nothing more than an average youth academy for the national team. My cousin (who was invited to Milan for some trials) tells me that the system in Australia is horrible, and nothing can ever really change it. Sad truth.

I used to be an avid league fan, lived down the road from my favorite two clubs, parramatta eels (rugby) and western Sydney wanderers. I had been to many eels games but never to a wanderers game, it just happened to be the first one I go to, is the derby, flares, chants goals everywhere. None of the fans gave up. Well, for one similar I would say the Seattle, Vancouver, and Portland rivalry. The El Classico, between San Jose and La Galaxy. Or the New York City FC and Red Bulls New York. There's another one between two teams in Texas, but I haven't watched it so I can't say how intense it is. I also want to say, DC vs Red Bulls New York, since they have the most history between each other.

I just love football. Wherever it's played, whatever you may call it, it's just the best sport in the world. From Championat national to Ligue 1 in france, from National league to Premiership in England, From 3.Liga to Bundesliga in germany, from USL to MLS in North America, and so on, this sport is just everything for me! I'll never try to fight someone for which Derby is the best! To me they all are and all should be recognized and known by Football fans. Everyone asking for the Melbourne Derby just shut up, the Melbourne derby is nothing, it's not even based on anything other than football, here in Sydney there has been a rivalry between the city and the west ever since the land was settled, the Melbourne derby isn't based on where you're from but the Sydney derby draws non-football people in because if you're associated with western Sydney or the City you already have a team to support.

panzer9248 it will never come close, we even saw in the video above, they had 40,000 people in attendance and that was considered huge for them, NRL and AFL games got over 90,000 in attendance this season in state of origin games and grand finals, and the state of origins and grand finals that weren't above 90,000 was because they were in stadiums with a capacity of a bit above 80,00 so all the tickets had sold out

State of Origin isn't domestic, it's not the NRL it's a once in a year thing, NRL would never ever get 90,000 to a game ever, it's like when Real played City at the MCG they got 98,000 there, that has nothing to do with the A league, the same goes for the NRL for the Origin. And it's funny how you mention 40,000 isn't a big crowd yet the NRL can't even get close to that crowd at allianz even in finals.

This was so exciting to see, and i am going to be amazed by this documentary. Just this sort of recognition for the A-league makes me proud to follow and support Melbourne City. You should go and look at the rise of the MLS and how it has changed American Sport.
