ah, the famous Lane Cove river, although ive fished it for a few years now, im yet to really explore more, but yes, its flathead central .
@cballzoutdoors2 жыл бұрын
i think if you go closer to deli road it becomes Perch and Aussie Bass central... I am yet to try that myself yet though! and summer has Pelagics closer to the heads so I couldnt bring myself to miss the opportunity now that the water is warming up

@@cballzoutdoors yep, nice trip up river , just 4 knots would take a long while to drive da boat, I cannot walk great distances as my knees are arthritis ridden. EDIT, Ive been to look at Dehli rd, a few shore spots in the brackish that got good hits, but up in the fresh you really need a kayak, or hire one of the pedal boats. Not many shore spots as I went for a car drive and had a good look. If I fresh water from shore, its Inner Parramatta river fresh (just up from brackish, and I did feature a video of me fishing there , hint hint ;D) , otherwise I head to nepean, but with the amount of rain, and extra water flow, its been difficult to get a fish, and even from shore can be really productive as there is logs and trees in the river, if you can get to cast a line at them, they surely would have a fish or two. But a kayak would help as they are a bit easier to launch than a boat :D . The pelagics seem slower to roll in this year as Ive found from others, even live bait has been on holidays, so I will not be chasing big stuff till probably mid summer.

Great video! Where do you launch the yak on Lanecove river mate? I’ve been looking into fishing the spot on my kayak and thought walking down from Pittwater Rd at sugar loaf point but if there’s a closer spot to the water, I’d love to know.
@cballzoutdoors Жыл бұрын
The Pitwater side is not as accessible, if you have a cart you have lots of options but you can launch from figtree Bridge, cart through the bushes at Blackman or launch from rotary oval pontoon. Personal preference is figtree because between figtree and Blackman is my favourite section to fish with lots of big flats and drop off's

@cballzoutdoors Жыл бұрын
both are pretty much the same from a profile perspective. you -just need to figure out the head and hook. 1/8 to 1/4 - 3/0 or 4/0 are good, if its windy maybe a bit heavier

Hey mate, awesome content. I was just wondering if you ever experienced any issues with casting leader knots through the Daiwa RZ rod guides?
@cballzoutdoors7 ай бұрын
Depends on leader size, knott and guide size. A uni to uni sucks and gives you windknotts and guide wrap. The slim beauty is much better, and the fg is king. If you have issues I would try a combo of lighter leader and better casting knott. E.g. if you have a 2-4kg knott use equivalent leader, like 8-15lb

Nice video mate. Quick question where do you recommend to launch kayak from?
@cballzoutdoors Жыл бұрын
OK, so really depends on how heavy your yak is, and if you have a pedal drive. If you have a pedal drive, Riverview boat ramp is the easiest. otherwise at rotary oval there is a kayak pontoon here goo.gl/maps/9QfCB2Axuehmr7sS9 which is easy to roll a kayak to, but can be incredibly busy with the kayakers exercising on the weekend mornings. you could also launch at figtree bridge but it's a bit harder to get your yak down some stairs and through mud.
@jackz5846 Жыл бұрын
@@cballzoutdoors thanks mate. Will check out the Riverview boat ramp. I got an inflatable hopefully not too much oyster and sharp stuff
