Good to see the Tangaras become common on the T2 and T8 lines due to trackwork on the T4 between Central to Bondi Junction this weekend. Went on a ride round the city circle via Town Hall and gave me so much of my childhood memories with my grandfather. Only that time the Tangaras were black, had dark blue leather seating and silver poles which looked soo much better than now and upgrade in the future. Pity they can't make an appearance or rare appearance on T2, T3 and T8 a normal day of the network running. Hopefully one day 1 or 2 anytime does.

I love the trains I was a fitter @ Faiverly transport which was a holiday camp ! I loved my time there immensely! Based @ Rosehill nxt to the Racecourse! We worked mainly on pneumatics! I did the brake callipers for oscar & 4gt !!

@@aquamonkee Tangaras were running the T2/T8 lines and City Circle due to trackwork on the T2 line past Liverpool and the T8 line past East Hills. The Eastern Suburbs section of the T4 line was also closed for trackwork.

Looks like you took my advice. The Oscars I knew about because of the trackwork information, but seeing all those Tangaras rostered for the T2/T8 lines was really unexpected.

Hm. I was on T80 & T110 (Ex-G33, corrected by Nichole The Otter) today and then took that same exact train to Liverpool after going on 2 V Sets for the first time. Man I could've have seen you again Phil. Oh well. But anyway, this is definitely something you won't see everyday.

GamingJamesGames T110's actual original set number was G33. The set was renumbered T133 after the G to T conversion, but was later transferred to Mortdale Maintenance Centre and renumbered, resulting in the current set number of T110. G32 went through a similar thing, becoming T132 but then also moved to Mortdale and became T100. I think the original G10 actually became current T102.

July 7 th 2022 was a no foreign trains day . Tangaras operated to Epping & Hornsby via Strathfield as well as Liverpool via Bankstown from the City Circle . The Epping services did turnbacks from Turrella . Also plenty of K set pairs ran to Leppington/ Campbelltown & some to Liverpool via Bankstown throughout the day .

It say OSCar’s and maybe Tangara’s could soon be making regular services through City Circle and the T8 and T9 Lines soon once the NIF D sets replace them on the CCNL and SCL. Would also be nice to see OSCar’s running the T4 Line alongside Tangara’s too once they no longer serve beyond Waterfall.

@V666 From Hell, H sets will be still in the South Coast Line, Tangaras will be in the T9 and the T3 Sometimes I saw Tangaras when I was in in Bankstown Train Station.

@@ahmeddoesroblox844 neither of you are correct. Once the D Sets are introduced, the T1/T9 will be entirely Waratahs. The T4 will continue to be entirely Tangaras. The T2/T5/T7/T8 will be M Sets, H Sets and Waratahs. The T3 will become Sydney Metro. The CCN/SCO/BMT will be D Sets. This was all stated in Government reports.

@@raph6931 Many Tangaras will be displaced as the rolling stock requirements for Sector two as far as double deckers are concerned will decrease somewhat due to the metro conversion taking in a good part of the suburban network . Some H sets will only be seen during peaks only . A fleet internal analyst told me this last weekend . There will be a surplus of double deckers even after the K sets retire .

Very nice Phil! I saw many Blacktown services on the T1 line recently. H sets running every 15min on the north shore line during non peak times. That's quite rare too right?

I still think a little more context would make the videos much more interesting. A view of the outside of the station - the environment - to show the kind of place the trains were serving. Plus a view of the station infrastructure, the entrance, the ticket machines, the walk from the entrance to the platforms. Etc. Then we could watch the trains plus see something of the world the passengers came from or heading to.

Discovery Neptune Yes. The reason why you saw them there was due to trackwork on the T2 (Liverpool to Leppington), T4 (Bondi Junction to Central) and T8 (East Hills to Macarthur) lines. It was surprising that they were actual rosters and not just randomly replacing a common Waratah.

Some Waratahs couldn’t go anywhere because of the trackwork because they were on the other side of the trackwork.

Rhys B sets have occasionally operated some Sector 3 services (mostly only A sets, and some T sets are rostered). B sets usually run the T2/T3/T8 lines.

T80 with a red target plate. I've seen some Mortdale Tangaras with a black target plate. But I have never seen a Hornsby Tangara with a red target plate

Transport Vlogs I know that T34, a Mortdale-based set, has a black target plate for some unknown reason. It is still unusual though, as I have seen the red plate on T80 a lot lately.

The Mortdale Tangaras that have the black target plates are T1, T30, T34, T38 and T106 many more Mortdale Tangara and the Hornsby Tangaras that have the red target plates is so far T80

Transport Vlogs I think the reason T106 has the black plate may be because they’re using T106 and T72 to train Sector 3 driving staff for the updated drivers’ consoles. They might train T72 and T106 with Sector 3 drivers first, and then Sector 1 drivers, as these new Tangara driver consoles being rolled out are said to be more like a Waratah console.

@@transportvlogs Tangaras running the opposite sector have become a very common sight as of recent years. It became common after most of the Tangara fleet were moved to Sector 1 (Eastern Suburbs/Illawarra Line) rosters as the power substations on that line have not been upgraded to sufficiently handle the fourth generation fleets like the Millennium and Waratah. Due to this, it's no longer weird to consider Hornsby-based sets on the T4 line, or Mortdale-based sets on the T1/T9 lines.
